Most of the time, the analog output is used to provide an excitation source for the data acquisition system, and we can regard the analog output as a signal generator. The core component of analog output is the digital-to-analog converter (DAC), and some technical indicators of DAC determine the characteristics of the analog signal that can be output. In the analog output parameters of the acquisition card, the main concern is the number of channels, sampling rate, resolution, output voltage range and other parameters.
Number of channels
The number of analog output channels can be simply understood as the number of channels that can be used for analog output.
Sampling rate
The sampling rate determines the number of digital-analog operations per second, and the unit is usually Sa/s, representing the number of samples per second. A higher sampling rate can output more data in the same amount of time, so the signal can be better restored. The following set of diagrams is the time domain waveform obtained by using different sampling rates to output a sine wave with a frequency of 1kHz.

Resolution
The number of bits used by the analog converter to represent the analog signal is the resolution. The higher the resolution, the more the signal range is divided into, so the smaller the minimum voltage change that can be output.
Taking the 16-bit analog output as an example, at the plus/minus 5V range, the voltage can be distinguished as: (5 * 2) / 65536 (2 to the 16th power) = 15.27uV.
