In order to help expand the renewable Energy supply chain in the international market, on August 7, 2023 local time, Suntech Power and Vena Energy, an Indonesian renewable energy company, officially signed a PV module procurement agreement with a total capacity of 2.5GW (hereinafter referred to as the “Purchase Agreement”) in Jakarta, the capital. Mr. Rachmat Kaimuddin, Deputy Minister of Maritime and Investment Coordination of Indonesia, Mr. Nitin Apte, CEO of Vena Energy, Mr. Li Bing-hui, Vice President of Regional Sales of Suntech Power, and other relevant personnel attended the signing ceremony.
Strong countries jointly develop new clean energy industries in the Asia-Pacific
Vena Energy is a leading power plant developer in Asia Pacific and an award-winning renewable energy developer in Asia Pacific. The company is headquartered in Singapore and has subsidiaries in Australia, India, Indonesia, Japan, Philippines, Korea and other places. Vena Energy’s portfolio includes onshore wind and solar, offshore wind, stationary and mobile energy storage projects totaling 43GW. The purchase agreement signed between Vena Energy and Suntech Power aims to explore opportunities to establish more local solar PV module production lines in Indonesia. In the future, these PV modules will be used to support a hybrid large-scale project in the Riau Islands being developed by Vena Energy. When completed, the project will have a 2.5GW photovoltaic power generation system and is one of the most important renewable energy projects in Southeast Asia.
