Installed on the inverter’s front panel are a variety of connectors such as Digital inputs (IOD) connector, Ethernet (PORT1 and PORT 2) RJ45 connector, Contactor enable (EN) connector, Shunt resistor (RC) connector, DC bus (DC) connector, 24V control input power (CP) connector and AC Input power (IPD) connector. It is also provided with Module status indicator for monitoring of the module’s operational state and Network Status indicator to monitor network communication. The provided LCD display provides readout of current selected parameter and may also display error codes. Navigation buttons are also provided to allow local configuration and operation of the drive.
The Allen-Bradley 2198-D006-ERS3 is a Kinetix 5700 dual-axis servo drive. It incorporates the drive with hardwired and integrated safety feature having safe torque-off (STO) function and SIL CL3 and PLE safety ratings. It also provides support for Hiperface and DSL encoder feedback. Its dual Ethernet ports provide support for both linear and device level ring (DLR) topologies. It uses single-wire and tuning-less commissioning, simplifying installation and saving space.
The 2198-D006-ERS3 drive has a module width of 55mm. It has dimensions of 9.92 x 2.17 x 14.09 in. and weighs 9.17 lbs. It has a continuous and peak output current of 2.5A and 6.3A at RMS (root mean square) values and 3.5A and 8.8A at 0-peak values respectively. The continuous power output at 324 – 528V rms, three-phase is 1.7 kW. It has PWM frequency of 4 kHz and internal capacitance of 165 µF.
