Taken together, the compact design of this servo motor, the advanced technology implemented in its winding, and its high-energy rare-earth magnets combine to produce the levels of torque and acceleration that are required to move the toughest loads. All Allen-Bradley MPL series rotary servo motors, including the MPL-B880C-MJ74AA servo motor, support vertical and horizontal mounting orientations. No shaft seal is installed on this servo motor, so when it is mounted horizontally, its environmental protection rating is IP 51. When the servo motor is mounted vertically with its shaft facing up, this gives it an environmental protection rating IP 53. If the shaft is facing down, then its environmental protection rating is IP 50. However, when a shaft seal kit is properly installed on this servo motor, it has an IP 66 protection rating.
