In today’s world, the only constant is change, and the speed of change is much faster than people can imagine. After years of market baptism, AVEVA has become stronger and stronger, with three magic weapons, and has always adhered to the development principle – open and universal software platform; The ecosystem culture that has always been praised – diversity and inclusiveness; DNA in the blood all the time – the quest for innovation.
— Cui Jingyi
Vice President of AVEVA, General Manager of China
Looking around the world, 2023 is destined to be an extraordinary era node, with challenges and opportunities intertwined, and the recovery of China’s economy makes AVEVA more confident about the future. Following the announcement of Caspar Herzberg as CEO of AVEVA Worldwide in March this year, in China, AVEVA announced that Ms. Cui Jingyi has assumed the position of Vice President and General Manager of AVEVA’s China region, responsible for the overall business in mainland China and Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan.
Facing the rapid changes in the global and Chinese market, Ms. Cui Jingyi shared the development goals and strategic vision of AVEVA in China ▸▸▸
In the past half century, AVEVA has emerged a number of industry giants, and they have gradually created the “Jianwei Universe” to provide industrial customers with complete, end-to-end and covering the whole industrial chain solutions, including engineering design – operation – optimization of the three industrial ecological chains, to provide customers with technical support for the whole life cycle.
In reviewing the development of AVEVA, Cui Jingyi describes the three important people who drove the development of AVEVA:
AVEVA software originated from the Engineering Design CAD Centre of Cambridge University in 1967, and the leading figure Arthur Llewelyn was the first director of the CAD Centre, and he was one of the earliest scholars to enter the field of three-dimensional engineering design.
The second important person, Dennis Morin, injected the “operational” gene into Jianwei Software. In 1987, Dennis Morin introduced the industry’s first Windows-based InTouch HMI, a user-friendly interface that made factory operation and control easier to understand.
“Dr. Patrick Kennedy is a key player in the AVEVA ‘optimization’ field.” Cui said Patrick founded OSIsoft in 1980 and launched the PI System historical/real-time database. OSIsoft, which was acquired by CAM in 2020, helps customers optimize asset valuation, improve production processes, and monitor factories in real time with trusted data covering the entire industrial lifecycle.
Cui Jingyi believes, “These three people represent the core value of AVEVA company – innovation ability. They found that there is nothing in the industry, to achieve innovation from 0 to 1, and in the next few decades, adhere to the original heart, continue to polish products in the process of constantly adapting to customer needs, grinding a sword for decades, leading the development of industrial software, and with customers to promote the sustainable development of related industrial industries, and made outstanding contributions.
AVEVA’s comprehensive product portfolio has helped more than 20,000 industrial companies in more than 100 countries to design smarter, operate more efficiently and achieve high quality development in the chemical, energy, power, infrastructure and maritime, mining, food and beverage industries.
“It is a great honor for me to work in such an outstanding company with like-minded colleagues. I also hope that I can use my own strength to better serve the digital transformation of Chinese industrial enterprises with the technology we have accumulated over the years, and make some contributions to the low-carbon and green development of the whole society.” Cui Jingyi said.
