The Allen-Bradley MPL-B4530F-SJ72AA servo motor, like other servo motors in the same family, contains a shaft-end threaded hole. When not in operation, the motor should be stored in an environment that has an ambient temperature ranging from a minimum of -30 degrees Celsius to a maximum of 40 degrees Celsius. Additionally, the MPL-B4530F-SJ72AA servo motor should be stored in an environment with a non-condensing relative humidity of between 5 and 95%. Note that the MPL-B4530F-SJ72AA servo motor should be stored in a noncorrosive atmosphere. This servo motor does not feature a shaft seal. However, the environmental protection rating, even without a shaft seal, varies depending on the direction of the motor’s shaft after mounting. For example, when the motor is mounted with the shaft facing downwards, the MPL-B4530F-SJ72AA servo motor has an IP 53 protection rating which means that the servo motor is guarded against dust and powerful water jets. When the shaft is placed horizontally, the MPL-B4530F-SJ72AA servo motor has an IP 51 protection rating, which is dust-tight and waterproof against running water.
