Collaboration is the key to enterprise success.
“We are in the VUCA era, and the business environment is volatile and uncertain. The needs of our customers will change depending on the situation, which is why we have to identify partners quickly, invest quickly and come up with solutions, and invest in PoC proof-of-concept projects. Once proven, we will try to present the idea to customers and even the public. If we only talk about the financial relationship between companies, we will not contribute to society. The key to the success of an enterprise lies in its corporate culture and leadership style, uniting employees and leading the company to the right direction.
In this regard, Yokogawa Electric has its own unique features. “Yokogawa’s culture is one of respect, trust and never giving up. Once a commitment is made to deliver and a partnership is reached, we will not give up. This is the spirit we admire. Once a commitment is made, the leadership cannot shirk it. Whether we succeed or fail, we must take responsibility!” Takeoka Yihiko said that this is not only the spirit of Yokogawa Electric, but also Yokogawa Electric resolutely implemented. “Whether in the face of new challenges or existing business challenges, even ordinary business, I must take responsibility for achieving goals, I must show my employees that I am responsible and I am persistent.” Even if the ability is not enough to cover all, but this is the attitude I adhere to.
Besides, I have to listen. When the voice says, ‘Your decision is wrong, you’d better think again.’ ‘I have to learn and I have to respect my employees. That’s my leadership style.”
Kazuhiko Takeoka laughs that his engineering background has had some influence on his style as a manager.
“My career at Yokogawa has spanned more than 30 years, most of which have been focused on technical areas such as engineering and delivery, development, sales, and technology promotion. Whenever I face a challenge in my career, I think back to my days as an engineer. In any case, I must quickly take up the challenge, show responsibility, guide the direction, whether good or bad, must be transparent, so that everyone can see what I am doing. That’s my style. Perhaps in an emotional way, but I often try to reflect on the logic itself and try to communicate my management philosophy properly to my colleagues so that they can understand it.”
As a century-old enterprise, Yokogawa Electric has been deeply engaged in the Chinese market for more than 60 years, and will continue to work with partners from all walks of life to explore new paths for intelligent manufacturing and sustainable development, and make more contributions to promoting the transformation and upgrading of China’s manufacturing industry and sustainable development.
