Personalized permissions improve the security of industrial information
The crack test is about 30 meters long, 15 meters wide and 7 meters high. It consists of a number of work areas and processing areas, a total of nine processing rooms. Therefore, the core of the safety concept is to ensure the safety of all feed areas and passageways. Components integrated into the safety concept are PSENslock, a safety door sensor for ensuring the position of loading and unloading trucks, and PSENmlock, a safety monitoring and protective lock for 14 safety doors. Not every employee who touches a machine needs to master all the options for operation, intervention, and change. Rhode + Wagner uses Peel Magnetic’s operating mode selection and access rights system, PITmode fusion, to enable individual operating mode selection and access rights management for equipment operators such as MTU Aero Engines. In addition, it can fundamentally prevent operator error, improper operation, harm to the operator and damage to the equipment.
“When Pielmagneto introduced us to PITmode fusion, we immediately realized that this modular operating mode selection and access rights system was ideal for meeting all mechanical safety and industrial information security specifications of our customer MTU Aero Engines, while also being in line with our efficient and user-friendly factory philosophy.” Jorg Rhode, Rhode + Wagner Anlagenbau, managing director.
Korbinian Boisseree, who is responsible for the operational planning of the NDT program at MTU Aero Engines, commented: “With the access rights system of Pielmagneto, we can personalize access rights management and create various user profiles.”
The advantages of the solution
The modular system PITmode fusion is easy to integrate into the design of large equipment
Assign permissions individually to enable human intervention for each process step
By assigning permissions, security briefings are restricted to relevant user groups
RFID transponder key with multiple functions and permissions
