Overlooking the global Top 500 ABB factory in Yizhuang, Beijing, rows of solar photovoltaic panels neatly cover the roof. In the plant, all equipment is connected to the intelligent power distribution control system in the cloud, and through big data and artificial intelligence technology, the optimization control of lighting, heating and ventilation in the factory is realized. The plant generates about 420,000 KWH of “green electricity” per year, reducing greenhouse gas emissions by about 400 tons.
August 15 is China’s first National Ecology Day. Like ABB, more and more factories in China are going “green”. According to the data of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, China has established 3,616 green factories, 267 green industrial parks and 403 green supply chain management enterprises at the national level, and promoted nearly 30,000 green products, and the green manufacturing system has been continuously cultivated and strengthened.
What is a green factory? According to national standards, green factories are factories that have realized land intensification, harmless raw materials, clean production, waste resources, and low-carbon energy, and are typical of green and high-quality development in various industries.
Boe Technology Group, a large semiconductor display equipment manufacturing group, has 15 national green factories, including the 8.5-generation TFT-LCD production line in Fuzhou, which was put into operation in 2017, and has also obtained the “lighthouse factory” certification of global intelligent manufacturing.
According to the relevant person in charge of BOE Technology Group, by the end of 2022, the installed capacity of the national BOE semiconductor display production line roof photovoltaic is about 114 megawatts, and the annual power generation is 103.78 million KWH, which is equivalent to the lighting needs of 300,000 families for a year, and can reduce carbon dioxide emissions by about 60,000 tons.
Green, low-carbon and intelligent are becoming the “new standard” for high-quality development. Today in Beijing, green factories are accelerating in various industries: Schneider Electric digitalizes every link from product production to asset operation and maintenance; Yuekang Pharmaceutical builds an online testing platform for energy management, reuses boiler waste heat, and provides heat through flue gas waste heat recovery instead of original steam… Data show that the energy consumption and water consumption of 10,000 yuan of output value of Beijing’s state-level green factories are only 42% and 67% of the city’s industrial average.
The strong momentum of green development cannot be achieved without policy support. He Jin, director of the Energy Conservation and comprehensive Utilization Department of the Beijing Municipal Bureau of Economy and Information Technology, said that Beijing has continuously optimized local standards and formulated and released the “14th Five-Year” green low-carbon development action plan for manufacturing industry; Open the “green diagnosis”, by the third-party service agencies to visit the “consultation”, the government gives a proportion of the green technology transformation financial support. Since 2020, it has supported more than 30 projects with subsidy funds of nearly 50 million yuan.
In Beijing Yizhuang, a high-tech industrial cluster, a number of renewable water plants have become the basic guarantee for green development. The person in charge of Beijing Yizhuang Environmental Technology Group, which operates several water plants including Jingkai Recycled Water Plant, said that the water supply pipelines connecting a large number of industrial plants in Beijing Yizhuang are flowing with high-quality recycled water. Since 2008, the group has provided a total of 170 million tons of high-quality industrial recycled water, supporting the application of many green factory enterprises such as BOE, Corning and SMIC.
In the green wave, a green factory must drive an industrial chain and supply chain to “green”. A number of “chain owners” such as BOE and Beijing Benz have driven upstream and downstream enterprises to reduce emissions and reduce carbon, optimize technological processes, and achieve green production. The relevant person in charge of Beijing Benz introduced that in the “Memorandum of Cooperation on Building green Steel Supply Chain” signed with Baosteel, it was proposed to gradually use low-carbon steel with significantly reduced carbon emission intensity in 2023, and the carbon emission intensity of vehicle steel will be gradually reduced by 50% to 80% from 2026, and the “green steel” with 95% carbon reduction will be used later.
