Recently, Omron Automation (China) Co., LTD. (hereinafter referred to as “Omron”) hosted the “2023 OMRON National University Talent Training Forum in the field of Industrial Automation” successfully held in Dalian. With the theme of “combining data and reality to empower the integrated development of schools and enterprises and promote the training of university talents”, the event aims to further promote the integration of production and education in strategic emerging industries such as digital technology and intelligent manufacturing, and help build a new pattern of school-enterprise cooperation and development. More than 40 experts, scholars and business representatives from 15 universities across the country attended the event.
Zhang Tao, Dean of the School of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering and the School of Intelligent Manufacturing Modern Industry of Dalian Minzu University, delivered a welcome speech on behalf of Dalian Minzu University, the organizer of the event. He introduced the development and construction of the school and the college, school-running characteristics and school-enterprise cooperation ideas, and said that through this forum, actively create cooperation conditions, give full play to the advantages of the school in personnel training, scientific research and innovation, and strengthen cooperation with enterprises and brother colleges and universities, facing the needs of industrial transformation and regional economic and social development. With the goal of strengthening students’ vocational competence and sustainable development ability, we will jointly cultivate a group of high-level talents needed by society and enterprises.
Zhou Feng, Director of Omron Market Strategy, introduced Omron’s construction process and achievements in the field of school-enterprise cooperation. He said that the development of enterprises cannot be separated from outstanding talents, and the core of talent training lies in the high integration of production and education and collaborative education. In recent years, Omron and Dalian Minzu University and other major universities have achieved fruitful cooperation, including personnel training programs, teaching equipment, teaching teams and school-enterprise cooperation practice courses. Taking this forum as an opportunity, Omron will introduce the rich experience and advanced technology accumulated in the industrial field into the field of education, cooperate with colleges and universities, jointly transform technical advantages and personnel advantages into production advantages, build a friendly cooperative relationship with the integration of production and education, and promote the reform of talent training mode.

Professor Li Hongru, director of the Department of Development Planning and Discipline Construction of Northeastern University and director of the Institute of Higher Education, delivered a keynote speech on “Reform of Artificial intelligence and Automation”, emphasizing that artificial intelligence technology is gradually penetrating into various industries and fields, and the reform of automation should attach great importance to artificial intelligence, which has brought great changes and opportunities to the teaching of colleges and universities and the future job market.
Professor Jin Wenbing, dean of the College of Internet of Things Technology, Hangzhou Polytechnic of Science and Technology, brought the report of “Professional Construction of Industrial Internet Application”, pointing out that industrial Internet application is a key technology for the deep integration of a new generation of information and communication technology and industrial economy for the construction of new infrastructure, application models and industrial ecology, and is an important cornerstone of the fourth industrial revolution.
Professor Xu Shixu, director of the Department of Control Science and Engineering, College of Automation, Qingdao University, brought a report of “PLC Teaching based on Machine Automation Controller (NJ/NX)”, sharing in detail the teaching reform of Omron PLC course, including the automation course textbooks, online courses, experiments and so on developed in cooperation with Omron.
Yu Honghan, general manager of the fifth Department of Cooperation of CSSC Education Technology (Beijing) Co., LTD., delivered a report on “Exploration and Practice of Industry-oriented industrial Colleges”.
A number of OmRON experts also shared topics on the practice of integration of industry and education. “VR distance teaching, breaking the boundaries of time and space, enabling cloud education”, “Intelligent platform to help the digital innovation of manufacturing site” and “Intelligent innovation Laboratory, leading universities to cultivate innovative talents” were published, showing Omron’s core technology, intelligent innovation laboratory and innovative training services and other rich resources.
During the meeting, all the participants visited the relevant achievements of the school-enterprise cooperation to build the Intelligent Manufacturing modern Industry College, visited the Intelligent Manufacturing Modern Industry College, the new engineering laboratory of the School of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering, Dalian Minzu University, and the engineering training center. A variety of Omron cutting-edge equipment and solutions are used in the laboratory, Omron cutting-edge technology is applied to the teaching, and various practical training is completed through the Omron temperature uniform control platform, AI visual detection teaching platform, intelligent vibration suppression experiment platform and other experimental equipment, so as to improve students’ cognition of the industry and enhance students’ practical ability.
