The IC200BEM002 module is a network communication module with network data rates between 9.6 K Baud and 12 M Baud. It is part of the Versamax series and manufactured by GE Fanuc. It supports up to 32 stations without using repeaters, and up to 125 stations when a repeater is used. The I/O data of the module uses 384 bytes of data. The module connector is a 9 Pin D sub connector type. It consumes a total of 460 milliamps of current from the 5 Volts Bus. At a given time, the network module can process 244 bytes of data from the network, and push up to 244 bytes of output data. The communication module uses the ver 1.00 firmware. It is equipped with flash memory that can be easily upgraded by connecting with a personal computer and using the serial port. The IC200BEM002 module can be mounted using a DIN Rail.

During the installation process, the GE Fanuc IC200BEM002 module should be in the unlocked position and the connectors should be aligned and they should be clicked into place. The front side of the module has a power LED indicator that shows the power status of the module and the “COM” LED that shows the communication status. For connection, it uses a Profibus DP cable. The communication module has an impedance rating between 135 and 165 ohms. The wire gauge of the module is less than 0.64 millimeters. The IC200BEM002 module has an open enclosure design and it can be used for indoor purposes only. The communication module should not be kept near sources of heat.
