In recent years, ABB’s production facilities in Beijing, Xiamen and Xinhui have been transformed into demonstration bases for the Zero Emission Vision. For example, ABB Xiamen Industrial Center, the world’s largest manufacturing base of ABB, uses an innovative energy regulation system, integrates the application of new energy generation and energy storage systems, and drives smart manufacturing with green electricity, becoming a smart park demonstration, a new power system demand-side response demonstration, and a smart microgrid demonstration. Clean energy replacement of 50% of electricity through 100,000 square meters of rooftop photovoltaics is expected to reduce carbon emissions by 13,400 tons per year.
ABB Xiamen Industrial Center deploys ABB Abilityâ„¢ ZEE600 smart energy management platform to accurately control the “source-network-charge-storage” of the park. The platform is connected to photovoltaic, energy storage, power distribution, HVAC, lighting, charging pile and other energy facilities to optimize the energy management of the entire park, and docking with Xiamen Power Supply Company to build a virtual power plant to achieve real-time demand-side response.
On the evening of September 8, Zhao Yongzhan was also invited to attend the Gulangyu Forum, the high-end international forum of the CIFAIR. As a representative of ABB, he held exchanges and discussions with representatives of foreign embassies and consulates in China, international investment promotion agencies, foreign business associations, and Chinese and foreign enterprises on issues such as sustained investment and sharing new opportunities for international cooperation.
ABB was one of the first multinational companies to participate in China’s modernization process. At the CIFIT on September 8, 1992, ABB and its Chinese partners reached a cooperation intention and signed an investment agreement. In the same year, ABB’s first joint venture in China was officially established in Xiamen. After 31 years of rapid development, ABB has invested about 19 billion yuan in China, with a full range of business activities such as research and development, manufacturing, sales and engineering services, and 27 local enterprises. Looking ahead, ABB will make strategic layout in key areas such as digitalization, artificial intelligence, industrial Internet, smart manufacturing, smart energy, smart transportation and smart cities to seize the opportunities of the era of low-carbon and high-quality development of China’s economy.
