Product Description

The “V” in the order code for the UR-RHV indicates that this module is intended for the vertical mount version of the Universal Relay series. The vertical mount units are reduced in size and intended for users with limited available space in their power system. Prospective buyers should ensure they are purchasing the module appropriate for their unit (horizontal or vertical) as there is a distinct difference between the two versions of the modules.

The Universal Relays series power supply modules have a redundant option which includes two power supplies placed in parallel with one another; if there is a fault in one of the power supplies, the other can take on the full load of the power system. This switchover happens instantly and results in zero downtime for the power system. The LEDs located on the front of the faceplate will also indicate when this failure occurs so that users can get the one power supply up and running while the other continues to take on the labor.

What is the function of the UR-RHV power supply module?
The UR-RHV is a Multilin General Electric power supply module and is compatible with the Multilin series of universal relays. For example, the Multilin universal relays include the D30 line distance relay, C30 I/O logic controller, and the T60 transformer management relay. The universal relays have slots to accept a Multilin power supply to receive power to the universal relay similar to the UR-RHV power supply module for example. Over the years, GE Multilin has come out with three types of power supply modules, the UR-1H series, the UR-RH generation, and most recently the UR-SH. The UR system of universal relays is compatible with the updated power supply modules as well even if it was first purchased with a power supply of the original generation. Similarly some universal Multilin relays require two power supply modules. In this event, the recommendation is that the generations remain the same for the two power supply modules included with the universal relay.
