Overview

Essential details:IC693BEM320 GE I/O Link Module

GE Fanuc designs and manufactures a solid-state serial interface module that is known as the IC693BEM320 solid-state serial I/O interface module. It is made for the interconnection of the proprietary GE Fanuc I/O Link network protocol and either a Series 90-30 or a Series 90-70 Programmable Logic Controller (PLC). This module can be configured by the users for transmitting 32 or 64 I/O points to a GE Fanuc I/O Link, but only as a slave module, never as a master module. The GE Fanuc IC693BEM320 I/O module’s configuration can be simply done by setting a jumper wire located inside the front cover in the right mode, which depends on the users’ applications. There are 2 serial communication ports available in the module, one for the RS-485 serial protocols and the other for the RS-422 serial protocols.

The operating temperatures for the GE Fanuc IC693BEM320 I/O interface module should always remain in the 0 to 60 degrees Celsius (32 to 140 degrees Fahrenheit) range, with a humidity range between 5 and 95% (non-condensing). If more extreme environmental conditions are expected, it is strongly recommended to use a climate control system on the panel that is housing the GE Fanuc PLC and the module. The installation of the module should be done by qualified technicians by sliding the GE Fanuc IC693BEM320 I/O interface module in any available slot of the Series 90-30 or 90-70 PLC backplane. There are 2 status LEDs on the front of the module, one to show that the module is correctly powered on and the other to show when it is working properly. Up to 16 GE Fanuc IC693BEM320 I/O interface modules can be set up as slave devices of a single master PLC.
