Product Description

The Allen-Bradley 1783-NATR is a Network Address Translation Router. This module features a single Copper Ethernet interface that can be configured for to map IP addresses on the connected machine subnet to different existing IP address in an Ethernet network. This module supports up tp 32 Translation mappings.

This Network Address Translation Router has a compact, rackless design, mounted to a DIN rail or directly to the mounting plate. It supports Liner or Device Level Ring (DLR) topologies on the machine network. It also has a webpage for faster engineering time as this webpage may be accessed by a standard web browser via the default IP address of 192.168.1.1.

The 1783-NATR allows protocol redirection. Protocols that may be redirected are popular Ethernet based protocols such as Common Industrial Protocol (CIP), Internet Control Message Protocol (ICMP), Hyper Text Transfer Protocol (HTTP), and Domain Network System (DNS).

The 17830NATR is provided with status indicators to display the module’s operational status. These LED indicators are specifically installed to report the general module operation represented by the OK LED, Link 1 and Link 2 LEDs for reporting the status of the configured connections and PUBLIC PORT LED used to indicate data transmission rate and link activity.

The 1873-NATR is supports use of an Secure Digital (SD) card for saving the module’s configuration in a non-volatile memory. This SD card may be installed to other 1783-NATR where data and configuration can be retrieved.

1783-NATR Allen Bradley Network Address Translation Router module

The 1783-NATR module is an Allen-Bradley/Rockwell Automation configurable network address translation router module. The 1783-NATR features a simplified 1:1 Network Address Translation, which achieves the mapping of IP addresses on the attached application. Built using an embedded switch technology, the 1783-NATR module can achieve Network Address Translation for applications in Device Level Ring or linear topology which are the typical topologies in various industrial settings.

The 1783-NATR module is used as a default gateway on various private networks. The primary purpose of the module is the translation of Private IP addresses to a unique public IP address. To ensure ease of setting up and simplified troubleshooting, the 1783-NATR module features webpage configuration or the use of the Electronic Data Sheet Add-On Profile. The component also comes with a simple device backup option, which also supports restoring the unit through an SD card. This is done through the stored configuration feature.

The 1783-NATR module supports the redirecting of various protocols. These include the CIP, ICMP, HTTP, and DNS protocols. These protocols are key when it comes to ensuring a stable network. The 1783-NATR module is ideal for use in the industrial environments requiring a wide deployment of EtherNet/IP network. The 1783-NATR module has a simple design and user-friendly interface for easy installation and fast configuration and integration into the existing system. The 1783-NATR module is built to provide the users with an economical industrial solution. The 1783-NATR module comes with ambient operating temperature range of -40 to 60 degrees Celsius. This ensures that the unit is perfect for tough industrial applications. The 1783-NATR module should be powered from an external power source that is compliant with the safety extra low voltage or the protected extra low voltage standards. If using DC power, ensure that the 1783-NATR module is powered using a DC connector and avoid wiring more than two conductors on a single terminal.
