Robots are getting smarter
In recent years, the rapid development of artificial intelligence and other technologies has brought new possibilities to the robot industry. Walking in the robot exhibition area of the Expo, you can feel that the robots are becoming more and more “intelligent” and more and more “smart”.
Collaborative robots are a major trend in the development of the robot industry, and there are hundreds of collaborative robots on display at this Expo. Compared with traditional industrial robots with large loads and formats, which usually need to work in a “safety cage”, collaborative robots are more flexible and safe, and can work with people to meet the production needs of small batches, diversification and flexibility.
At ABB’s booth, collaborative robots for the laboratory field were on display, performing tasks such as dosing, mixing and pipetting, and cooperating with researchers to carry out experiments. “The biomedical industry is more about small workstations. These are places where automation is needed and there are a lot of scenarios for human-machine interaction, and cobots are a good fit for those scenarios.” “Said Wang Tong, head of marketing and sales for ABB’s robotics business unit in China.
At the festival booth, the reporter tried to approach a collaborative robot and found that its movement speed had slowed down, and when he tried to touch the robot with his hand, it automatically stopped. “This is the card’s visual protection camera in action, which can flexibly set the protected area, support multiple levels of protection, and make human-machine collaboration safer.” Section card robot market manager Wang Lei said.
According to reports, in order to further improve the robot’s perception and decision-making ability, the section card first exhibited the self-developed 2.5D visual positioning technology at the Expo, which can realize the dynamic estimation of spatial pose, and the accuracy can reach 0.2mm in the precise positioning mode.
Jiang Yao, chairman of local robot brand Jabbot, said: “We are very optimistic about the development of the collaborative robot market, and will increase investment in the future, continue to research and innovation, and help China’s high-end intelligent manufacturing.”
