CNG: As a leader in electrical technology, how does ABB contribute to the development of new power systems? What successful project practices has ABB achieved so far?
ABB, as an enabler of the industry, will focus on these challenges by providing safer, smarter and more sustainable products and solutions that enable digitalization and electrification to achieve carbon neutrality and contribute to the construction of new power systems.
On the side of building a super-resilient distribution network, we have adopted ABB’s smart distribution 5G solution to meet the timeliness and reliability requirements of mass information transmission in urban distribution networks. The smart power distribution 5G solution supports accurate fault location, isolation, self-knowledge and self-healing, achieving fault isolation within 150 milliseconds and power recovery within 300 milliseconds to ensure future power supply reliability of the distribution network. At the same time, through 5G smart power distribution means, it can meet the requirements of timeliness and reliability of mass information transmission in urban distribution network.
In terms of energy regulation, we use ABB ZEE600 smart energy management system to realize the coordinated operation of “source, network, load and storage” of the entire green and low-carbon park, and complete the integrated coordinated regulation of large power grids and microgrids. Through big data AI algorithm to achieve photovoltaic power generation prediction and load prediction, multi-strategy flexible and precise regulation, to maximize the local consumption of clean energy, improve energy efficiency; In ABB Xiamen Industrial Center, ABB ZEE600 has also completed the grid scheduling docking and established a demand-side response mechanism, which can reduce the maximum power capacity of the whole park by 20% without inductive regulation, and complete the integrated collaborative regulation of large power grid and micro-grid to stabilize the large power grid.
In terms of equipment iot awareness technology, ABB Asset Health management platform enables electrical equipment condition monitoring, evaluation and diagnosis, and operation and maintenance recommendations, which can reduce unplanned power outage losses by more than 50%, improve overhaul efficiency, reduce maintenance costs, and extend equipment life. With better health traceability and more focused maintenance, asset life can be extended by 10 to 50 percent.
At present, we have carried out the project practice in many places across the country. For example, ABB Xiamen Industrial Center “Zero Emission Vision” project, laying 100,000 square meters of rooftop photovoltaic, achieving 50% clean energy replacement, 13,400 tons of carbon reduction per year, electricity savings of 22%. There is also the Shenzhen Shekou Building upgrading project, after the completion of the project, can achieve annual carbon reduction of 142 tons, is expected to save 50% of the cost of electricity purchase. The project was included in the second batch of “Shenzhen Near Zero carbon emission Building Pilot Demonstration Project”, and won the national “Near zero Energy building design Evaluation Logo” award.
Looking to the future, the construction of China’s new power system will further accelerate the green and low-carbon transformation and promote sustainable development. As a global leader in the field of electrical and automation, ABB’s technologies and solutions can deeply empower customers and partners, play an important role in the new power system, help achieve the goal of “dual carbon”, promote the development and application of new energy, and make positive contributions to the building of a beautiful China.
