Recently, Kong Prosperity, director of the Industrial Intelligence Institute of Shanghai Software Center, was listed as the propaganda object of the “new journey and new struggle” of the Shanghai Municipal Party Committee Propaganda Department. In 2021, the Shanghai Software Center established the “Industrial Intelligence Technology Institute” (hereinafter referred to as the “Industrial Intelligence Institute”), whose members went to various factories across the country to consult the pulse of manufacturing enterprises and propose targeted solutions, and has now served more than 200 key manufacturing enterprises. In addition, Kong also leads a business incubation team, which has been focusing on the innovation cultivation of small and medium-sized enterprises for more than 10 years, and has incubated a total of 916 enterprises, including 4 listed companies and 25 technology unicorns.
In October 2021, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology issued the first six intelligent manufacturing Capability Maturity Assessment (CMMM) Class I service institutions authorized by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, and Shanghai Software Center was evaluated, becoming the first six domestic and the only Class I service institution in Shanghai. In the same year, Shanghai Software Center officially signed a CMMM evaluation contract with SAIC Passenger Car Company, becoming the first CMMM evaluation contract in Shanghai, and also marking that Shanghai has become the third pilot city to carry out manufacturing maturity evaluation against national standards after Shenzhen and Wuxi.
According to Kong, because there are many manufacturing links, the past digital transformation lacks a global vision. In response to this problem, the intelligent manufacturing capability maturity model describes the ladder goals and evolution paths for enterprises to implement intelligent manufacturing, and puts forward the core elements, characteristics and requirements for realizing intelligent manufacturing, from the PTRM (personnel, technology, resources, manufacturing) and other elements. Five maturity levels from low to high comprehensively evaluate the level of digital, networking and intelligent development of enterprises. Each maturity level is further refined into 20 capability sub-domains, and each capability sub-domain is further refined into 1-5 different terms and requirements.
The evaluation of intelligent manufacturing ability evaluates and diagnoses the comprehensive ability of enterprises in intelligent manufacturing, and the evaluation method is more objective and scientific, the conclusions are more targeted, and the implementation and operability are stronger. According to the evaluation results, the factory can take the corresponding adjustment of equipment, technology, personnel structure, etc., from the global perspective to improve production efficiency, reduce costs, make up for shortcomings, and enhance the competitiveness of enterprises.
Kong prosperity introduced that compared with large enterprises, a large number of small and medium-sized enterprises because of lack of awareness of transformation, lack of resources, weak infrastructure and other factors, there is a “will not turn, can not turn, dare not turn” dilemma in intelligent manufacturing.
Data acquisition is one of the pain points in the company’s production process. Kong said, “But many factory equipment is old, if the direct replacement of equipment costs are high, we can through the installation of sensors, the development of smart factory system, to help enterprises achieve real-time data acquisition and equipment, production line management.” The institute actively promotes the construction of resource and capacity sharing platform, especially for the common needs of small and medium-sized enterprises, and launches lightweight, low-cost, standardized solutions with partners, namely smart factory flexible management and control platform, through the “low code” customized service model, creating a low-cost digital transformation road, driving small and medium-sized enterprises to accelerate the pace of intelligent manufacturing. Relevant generic technology research has also been proposed by the Ministry of Science and Technology key research and development program support.
The yield rate is the lifeline of the enterprise. Through this low-code flexible management and control platform, the industrial Intelligence Institute has helped a number of production line products represented by electronic equipment to increase the pass-through rate from 75% to more than 95%. This means that by optimizing the production process and lean production process, the yield rate and production efficiency of the production line have been greatly improved, and the integrated development of management organization, management process and information technology has been realized, and enterprises have truly tasted the sweetness of low-cost intelligent manufacturing.
In the selection of national intelligent manufacturing benchmarking enterprises in 2021, SAIC Passenger Cars and Shanghai Huayi New Materials, which are served by Shanghai Software Center, won this honor. In the next three years, Shanghai will fully implement the smart factory pilot plan to build 20 benchmark smart factories and 200 demonstration smart factories. At present, the institute has cooperated with Shanghai district governments to carry out the self-assessment of intelligent manufacturing maturity of manufacturing enterprises, and has guided more than 200 enterprises to complete self-assessment, and provided intelligent manufacturing diagnostic services of “one enterprise and one policy” for nearly 100 manufacturing enterprises.
Up to now, the Institute has visited Guangxi, Jiangxi, Shandong, Jiangsu and other places to explore ways to promote the digital transformation and development of regional manufacturing enterprises, covering various fields such as automotive, electronics, chemical, pharmaceutical, FMCG, tobacco and so on. The Industrial Intelligence Institute of Shanghai Software Center is based in Shanghai, radiating the experience of industrial digital transformation of the Yangtze River Delta to the whole country, promoting the transformation of industrial economy from “manufacturing” to “intelligent manufacturing”, and providing strong support for accelerating the construction of manufacturing power and building new advantages in international competition.
