Product Description

The IS230TCISH7C is a PCB component manufactured by General Electric to be used within the Mark VI and Mark VIe systems.  Both of these platforms are used by GE to manage heavy-duty steam and gas turbines, as well as for several other applications.  The Mark VI features a Central Control Module connected to I/Os. The Mark VIe is a DCS (distributed control system) with autonomous controllers distributed within the system that are all under centralized supervisory control.  Both systems offer integrated hardware and software developed by General Electric.

Superiority products IS230TCISH7C GE functions as an I/O terminal board

The IS230TCISH7C functions as an I/O terminal board.  This board is populated by two terminal blocks with two rows of screw connections located on each.  The blocks are mounted to the board on one long side of the card in a single line. Each block is connected by two screws.  On the other side of the board, the board has three 37-pin (female) connectors. The IS230TCISH7C also has two plug connectors.  Other components on the board include several MOVs (metal oxide varistors,) resistors, capacitors, and integrated circuits. Metal oxide varistors are voltage-dependent, non-linear devices that are typically used to protect circuits from overvoltage conditions.

Two edges of the IS230TCISH7C have been notched.  The board has two large and several small factory-made holes.  These allow for mounting options. The board is mounted in a metal carrier that allows for DIN-rail mounting.  These two components connect via screw connections. Two of the factory-made holes are chassis grounding screws for SCOM (grounding,) which should be as short of a connection as possible.

More information about the operation, installation, and function of the IS230TCISH7C can be found through publications from the original manufacturer.  Please refer to manuals or user guides that reference the part number or series for handling procedures.
