Siemens wins again! According to the latest PAC RADAR report from PAC, a leading market research firm specializing in business software, IT services and digital transformation, Siemens has been named the best global supplier in the industrial metauniverse market. This assessment is based on Siemens having a clear strategy in the industrial metauniverse, a broad product portfolio and tangible progress in this area.
At the heart of the industrial metauniverse is the interaction between people and complex digital models of industrial operations. PAC believes that Siemens is an excellent supplier in this field today. Over the past year, Siemens has demonstrated outstanding capabilities in the industrial metauniverse.

PAC Head of Digital Innovation and Internet of Things
In June 2022, Siemens announced its strategic goal to empower the industrial metauniverse with solutions on Siemens Xcelerator, an open digital business platform. These solutions include software for creating and managing digital twins. Digital twins are constantly updated and optimized models based on the physical world and are the building blocks of the industrial metaverse.
To accelerate the development of the industrial meta-universe, Siemens has partnered with Siemens Xcelerator eco-partners such as Nvidia, Amazon Cloud Technologies and Microsoft to create immersive, full-service digital twins covering the full life cycle of products, production and services for Norwegian battery company Freyr’s Gigabit battery factory. Employees at the FREYR plant can interact with this all-encompassing digital twin to make better and faster engineering decisions.
The Track of the Future: the Industrial Metauniverse
The rise of the industrial metaverse has enabled people to better collaborate and test products and processes in immersive, intuitive, real-time environments, just as they would in the real world. Experts can participate remotely for simpler, faster and more accurate plant planning and optimization, saving resources and reducing emissions. Thus, the industrial metaverse can make a substantial contribution to addressing real-world challenges such as climate protection, demographic change, and resource efficiency.
Siemens uses the industrial metaverse in product design and manufacturing around the world. For example, as part of a previously announced €500 million investment plan in the Irish Roots of Germany, Siemens will strengthen its research and development and manufacturing capabilities and establish the Irish Roots as a global research and development center and an industrial metauniverse technology development center.
The Emerging Industrial Metaverse report
Siemens and MIT Technology Review collaborate on research to explore new opportunities in the rapidly evolving industrial metaverse, and jointly publish research reports on the industrial metaverse. The report brings together the latest research in the industrial metauniverse and includes interviews with leading technologists, industry analysts, business leaders and researchers.
PAC also recently named Siemens a “best-in-class platform vendor” in two industrial iot categories: Industrial Cloud Applications and Industrial Edge Management, and named Siemens a “leading edge vendor” for sustainability platforms in its recently released PAC RADAR report.
