Introduction to PROFIBUS Certified Engineer
PROFIBUS, as a fieldbus standard for automation technology, has been the global market leader for 25 years, with more than 50 million devices installed, making it the most successful and popular fieldbus technology for industrial communications worldwide. Suitable for the entire automation application branch including factory automation, process automation and motion control, it plays a crucial role in industrial automation.
In most cases, the registered engineer is the only person capable of carrying out the project. By being a valuable certified engineer, companies and their employees can differentiate themselves from competitors who are also using this technology.

The PROFIBUS Certified Engineer (CPE) training program is an internationally recognized training program. It was established to create a quality platform for PROFIBUS qualified engineers with officially recognized diplomas. After graduation, you can become an exclusive member of the PROFIBUS professional platform.
The PROFIBUS Certified Engineer Course is a four-day intensive practical and theoretical training program. Exams will be held on the last day. After passing the exam, participants will receive the title of “Registered Engineer” and will be officially registered.
Network diagnostics from PROCENTEC to Anybus
In April 2022, HMS officially acquired the Dutch company PROCENTEC and announced the establishment of Anybus Network Diagnostics, which provides network monitoring solutions to implement permanent real-time monitoring of PROFIBUS and industrial Ethernet, helping customers avoid costly unplanned downtime.

What does it mean to get a certificate?
A well-functioning, healthy industrial network is not only built on reliable hardware and software, companies also need skilled professionals who provide engineers with the essential skills and knowledge to enable them to increase plant uptime.
Two HMS engineers have obtained the qualification of PROFIBUS Certified Engineers, which means that HMS can better carry out “PROFIBUS troubleshooting and maintenance” services in China.
“Based on HMS’s many years of experience in industrial automation and industrial communications, we now have the knowledge to independently prevent and correct errors, not only with system integration capabilities, but also to provide better services in system maintenance and troubleshooting.” Said Shi Weiwei, HMS Greater China technology and engineering manager.
PI Competitiveness Center
As early as 2021, HMS in China has officially become a PI Competence Center (PICC) certified by the PI Association, which is a center of professional technical knowledge and works closely with regional PI associations.
At present, there are 59 PICCs worldwide, and PICCs are bound by a “Quality of Service” agreement administered by PI to ensure that the services they provide are of superior technical performance.
In the future, HMS will continue to strengthen its service capabilities for PROFIBUS/PROFINET technology in China on the basis of the existing PICC, and provide users with more professional and comprehensive PROFIBUS/PROFINET communication fault and network diagnosis services and technical support. Ensure efficient operation of end-user business systems.
