According to reports, located in the Shanghai Robot Industrial Park in Baoshan District, Fanuc super intelligent factory has begun to take shape, the system workshop of the production logistics area has been basically completed, each building has entered the final stage, and industrial equipment has been installed… It is expected to be completed and put into operation within this year.
It is understood that the third phase of Fanuc Smart Factory project is a major construction project in Shanghai in 2020, which will be the world’s largest robot base of Fanuc Group after Japan, and the annual output value is expected to reach 10 billion yuan after completion. The project is divided into two phases of construction, the current implementation is the first phase of the project, investment 1.58 billion yuan, this July will be completed acceptance, in October can be put into production.
Fanuc smart factory not only has the function of advanced manufacturing, can provide the world’s leading intelligent manufacturing solutions for downstream application enterprises, but also has the functions of employee education and training, intelligent manufacturing advanced equipment display, sales and other aspects, is a high-end intelligent factory with the integration of research and development, manufacturing and sales, which will drive the development of industrial robots in Shanghai to a new level. We will accelerate the development of China’s advanced manufacturing industry.
And just last December, ABB officially opened its robotic Gigafactory in Shanghai, which will be ABB’s most advanced, automated and flexible robotic factory in the world – making robots from robots, with an annual capacity of up to 100,000 units, it has been revealed.
ABB said that in the future, more than 90% of the company’s products sold in China will be produced in the Gigafactory, which will obviously greatly improve ABB’s ability to supply industrial robots in China, and further enhance its leading position in the field of robotics and automation in China. Now the Fanuc robot base is about to be put into production, and the two factories make up for the lack of capacity. It is bound to squeeze the market space of domestic industrial robots in the future.
Shanghai’s strong robotics industry
In the development of the robot industry, Shanghai has been in the forefront of the country, as early as 1987, by the Shanghai instrument Factory, Shanghai Jiaotong University and other units jointly developed the “Shanghai No. 1” welding robot, is China’s earliest industrial robot.
After years of development, the Shanghai robot industry continues to grow, including the international four industrial robot giants ABB, Yaskawa Electric, FANUC and KUKA have landed in Shanghai, Xinshida, Stanka, Siasun and other local robot enterprises have also taken advantage of the trend, in recent years, there are a number of excellent service robot enterprises emerged. For example, Fourier Intelligence focuses on rehabilitation robots, Qinglang intelligence focuses on food delivery and delivery, and Gao Xian robot focuses on hygiene and cleaning robots.
Not long ago, the Shanghai Municipal Commission of Economy and Information Technology and other nine departments issued the “Shanghai intelligent robot benchmarking enterprises and application scenarios recommended Directory”, the first batch includes 41 enterprise brands and 52 application scenarios, divided into industrial intelligence, medical health, construction services, agricultural services, public services, household services, special emergency seven typical scenarios.
In the next step, the second and third batches of catalogs will be launched, and information channels for docking robot enterprises and user units will be built to promote and apply a number of replicable and referable development results, and publicity and promotion will be carried out around the catalog, encouraging market docking and supporting enterprise growth.
Data show that in 2021, the production of industrial robots in Shanghai exceeded 70,000 units, an increase of 34%. In 2022, under the severe impact of the epidemic, the annual output of industrial robots in Shanghai is expected to reach more than 75,000 units, achieving a year-on-year increase of 6%, ranking first in domestic cities.
At the same time, 2022 is also a year for the development of Shanghai’s service robot industry, and many enterprises’ products have successfully landed in medical, construction, agriculture, commerce, household, emergency and other fields. According to the data of the Pudong Science, Technology and Economic Commission, the size of China’s service robot market can reach 10 billion US dollars in 2024, and a large part of it must come from Shanghai enterprises.
By 2025, the scale of robots in Shanghai will reach 100 billion
In recent years, to support the development of the robot industry, the Shanghai government has issued a series of policies, Including the Implementation Opinions on Accelerating the Development and Application of Robots in Shanghai to Promote Industrial Transformation and Improve Quality and Efficiency, the Implementation Opinions on Promoting the Development of a New Generation of Artificial Intelligence in Shanghai, the Action Plan for Promoting the High-quality Development of Intelligent Terminal Industry in Shanghai, and the 14th Five-Year Plan for the Development of Digital Economy in Shanghai, etc. Support the Shanghai robot industry from the aspects of technology research and development, application scenarios, business models, financial services, etc.
Not long ago, the Shanghai Municipal Commission of Economy and Information Technology said that by 2025, Shanghai will strive to build 10 industry-leading robot head brands, 100 benchmark demonstration robot application scenarios, and 100 billion yuan robot related industry scale.
Focusing on the above goals, Shanghai will take the lead in carrying out three key actions in the future, including industrial intelligence promotion action, service scenario expansion action, and cluster ecological optimization action, to support the innovation and development of the robot industry.
Focusing on industrial intelligence promotion actions, Shanghai is comprehensively promoting the digital transformation of the manufacturing industry, implementing the smart factory piloting action plan, and has built 3 national benchmark smart factories, 10 municipal benchmark smart factories and 100 municipal smart factories.
It is reported that in the next three years, Shanghai will focus on six key industries such as automobiles and high-end equipment, “one industry, one policy” and “classification” to promote the intelligent manufacturing transformation of industrial enterprises, and build a total of 20 municipal benchmark smart factories and 200 municipal smart factories, driving the application of industrial robots to increase 20,000 units, and the density of industrial robots to increase 100 units / 10,000 people.
In the next three years, Shanghai will focus on key directions such as medical care, construction, agriculture, commerce, household, and emergency, and promote the large-scale landing application of service robots.
