Dig deep into data value and predictive maintenance to make operations more robust
Today, improving asset reliability, performance and safety is the primary concern of plant production and operation, and it is also a challenge that must be overcome to build a smart power plant. Panji Power plant has very high requirements for continuous monitoring of equipment status, as well as catching early signs of equipment failure in time, so as to intervene in diagnosis and take measures in advance. Schneider Electric’s AVEVA Predictive Analytics predictive maintenance system uses machine learning, artificial intelligence, advanced pattern recognition and data mining to provide early warning notifications and equipment diagnostics to power plants days, weeks or months before a failure occurs.
Based on the historical data collected since the commissioning of the Panji Power Plant, AVEVA Predictive Analytics uses the collected current, bearing, coil and ambient temperature of the four seasons, as well as vibration, pressure, flow and other parameters to generate a unique model for each functioning plant. When deviations from the actual and predicted values occur and persist, the system automatically triggers an alarm. The multi-dimensional dynamic threshold monitoring mode of the system can improve the early anomaly recognition ability, help the intelligent operation and maintenance of the power plant, and ensure the safety and stability of power production from the source.
In addition, the AVEVA Predictive Analytics system was able to significantly reduce the false positive rate due to Schneider Electric’s decades of experience in the field of equipment diagnostics. The diagnostic knowledge base preset in the system can evaluate faults according to curve changes, quickly calculate and analyze possible fault causes, and constantly expand and improve according to the actual working conditions on site. This not only facilitates the work of front-line personnel, but also helps Panji Power plant continue to accumulate, integrate and inherit its own operation and maintenance knowledge.
Comprehensive empowerment to help the green and high-quality development of the power industry
With the first phase of the Panji Power plant project fully put into operation at the beginning of this year, the second phase of the project is also under construction. It is worth noting that the Panji Power Plant is the first project of 660MW ultra-supercritical unit construction funded by Huaihe Energy Group and participated by Schneider Electric for the first time. Based on the happy cooperation experience and full trust, Panji Power Plant Phase II project will continue to join hands with Schneider Electric, copy the successful experience of digital delivery, and continue to write a wonderful story of smart power plant construction.
Today, Schneider Electric has developed a mature and standard digital delivery execution process based on its rich experience in the digital transformation of the power industry. Since the opening of the Panji Power Plant project, from the specification document sorting, to the requirements collection and program design, platform construction and secondary development, and finally to the acceptance and continuous support of customers’ new application requirements, the cooperation mode created by Schneider Electric team and Panji Power Plant has been highly praised by the customer management and operation and maintenance team.
Looking at the entire power industry, with the increasing complexity of industrial big data, traditional enterprises such as electricity are facing increasingly severe challenges. Today, in addition to digital delivery, power companies can use the Schneider Electric AVEVA PI System big data management platform to further unlock the value potential of energy data elements. Schneider Electric’s software portfolio includes AVEVA APC Advanced Process Control, EcoStruxureâ„¢ Control Advisor PID tuning optimization, and EcoStruxure System Advisor DCS Intelligent Alarm. It can also help power enterprises realize intelligent monitoring of all working conditions from “operation” to “maintenance”.
With the promotion of China’s dual-carbon goal, the deepening combination of digital technology and power technology will become a key engine to promote the green and sustainable development of the energy and power industry. As a global expert in digital transformation in the field of energy management and automation, Schneider Electric will rely on its deep experience in the construction of smart power plants and work with more like-minded partners to promote the high-quality and green sustainable development of the power industry.
