The China-Eu Partnership Dialogue was successfully held in Beijing today. With the theme of “Shaping New Drivers for Green Development Together”, the event brought together about 200 representatives from 70 well-known European enterprises and relevant business associations, as well as nearly 50 Chinese enterprises and institutions, to conduct exchanges and discussions on topics such as deepening China-Eu practical cooperation in green and low-carbon development.
Dr. Xiao Song attended the event and shared in his keynote speech his unique insights on how Chinese and European companies can work together to accelerate the low-carbon transformation of their industries.
Below are excerpts from his speech
In the current era of uncertainty has become the norm, for enterprises, green development is not only to grasp the certainty of the future, but also to actively explore the structural opportunities.
Europe has rich experience and technical resources in green transformation, while China shows huge market potential in the scale of low-carbon industries. China-eu cooperation can not only accelerate technological innovation and application, but also become an important force in safeguarding economic multilateralism and free trade.
As the world’s leading technology company, Siemens continues to pursue technological breakthroughs to stimulate the potential of the integration of digitalization and low-carbon development.
We continue to share best practices in the global application of digital technologies with industry. For example, Siemens’ digital factory in Chengdu has welcomed nearly 60,000 entrepreneurs over the past 10 years. The world’s first native digital factory opened in Nanjing in June last year, and more than 7,000 entrepreneurs have visited it in just over a year.
We are constantly introducing innovative, efficient and green new technologies. For example, solutions such as SiGREEN and Smart ECX have been applied in companies such as Beijing Benz, Hongqi Instrument, Datong Gear, etc., to help them better achieve a win-win situation of economic and environmental benefits.
In addition, we are committed to building a new ecology that supports high-quality development. Through Siemens Xcelerator, an open digital business platform, companies in different industries and fields can pool their strength to share, create and win. Since the platform landed in China one year ago, it has launched nearly 20 locally developed innovative solutions and has nearly 40 ecological partners.
“With the power of everyone, it is invincible”, to achieve the goal of “double carbon” requires all parties to work together to build ecology. Siemens will continue to use the local value chain and global resources, digital and low-carbon “two-wheel drive”, together with partners to strengthen the win-win green ecology.
The event was co-sponsored by the International Cooperation Department of the National Development and Reform Commission and the Foreign Affairs Office of the Beijing Municipal People’s Government, and hosted by the International Cooperation Center of the National Development and Reform Commission, the National Energy Conservation Center and the People’s Government of Fengtai District of Beijing. Going forward, the National Development and Reform Commission will continue to organize a series of China-Eu partnership dialogues focusing on key areas of cooperation.
