1394-SJT05-C-RL FANUC has signed a global cooperation agreement with Volvo Cars. Under the agreement, FANUC will provide industrial robotics and automation solutions to production floors at Volvo Cars’ global plants, including complete vehicle manufacturing plants, as well as power battery production sites in Europe, Asia and the Americas.

1394-SJT05-C-RL In the first phase, FANUC will supply more than 700 robots to a new factory in Slovakia, Volvo Cars’ first dedicated to the production of new energy vehicles, with the first cars expected to roll off the assembly line in 2026. FANUC will also supply robots to Volvo Cars’ factories in Daqing, China and Ghent, Belgium.

Volvo Cars’ new plant in Slovakia will be carbon neutral. Sustainability has become another cornerstone of Volvo Cars’ development in addition to safety, and Volvo Cars plans to produce only new energy vehicles from 2030 and become 1394-SJT05-C-RL carbon neutral by 2040.
