VC401-10 On the occasion of this year’s SPS show in Nuremberg, Germany, the EtherCAT Technology Association (ETG) has counted the growth of its membership, and the growth in 2019 is once again impressive. Of course, this is due in large part to EtherCAT’s excellent technology itself, but also because we provide comprehensive technical support and information, as a member of the world’s largest organization of fieldbus users have unrestricted access to relevant information.
VC401-10 In recent years, ETG has been growing rapidly with more than 500 new members per year: a year ago, a total of 5,000 members participated in the show, and this year a total of 5,625 members participated in SPS. These figures are all the more impressive because ETG members are all companies or universities and do not have any individual members.
VC401-10 In terms of the global distribution of ETG members, the proportion of Asian members is particularly striking. About 40% of ETG members come from China (mainland and Taiwan), Japan and South Korea, with a total of 2,250 members. These data fully demonstrate that EtherCAT technology has been fully accepted by users in Asia.
As the fastest industrial Ethernet technology, EtherCAT technology itself has attracted many ETG members. the unique principle of on the fly functionality, simple configuration, precise diagnostics, high-precision synchronization, and the wide range of devices available on the market make EtherCAT the preferred communication system for most users.
VC401-10 In addition, the rapid development of the members is due to the work of ETG’s global experts, who ensure that all members are fully involved in technical discussions and training courses, and provide research and development support for the use of EtherCAT technology at exhibitions or events, such as EtherCAT Plug Fests events. The “EtherCAT developer ecosystem” has fully blossomed. For ETG membership and benefits information, please visit: www.ethercat.org/members
