The prime purpose of the Exciter Gate Pulse Amplifier Board labeled IS200EGPAG1A is to control the power bridge. As the board is controlling the power bridge it will also receive gate commands from an ESEL board and will then generate firing pulses for six silicon-controlled rectifiers (SCRs). Along with being an interface for the previously described modes, the IS200EGPAG1A is also an interface for bridge airflow, temperature monitoring, and feedback for conduction currents.

Product Description

IS200EBKPG1CAA BACKPLANE EXCITER CONTROL BOARD

There are LEDs on the IS200EGPAG1A model which indicate the status of the currents into the bridge, line filters, bridge temperature, output firing, gate power supply, alarm/fault conditions, and the cooling fan rotation. Please note that when the board has been connected to a power conversion module (PCM), one EGPA is used per PCM.

There is an individual manual that contains a more detailed description of the IS200EGPAG1A model. The name of the manual is GEI-100461 IS200EGPA Exciter Gate Pulse Amplifier Board. Attached on the manual tab of this page there is an overarching series manual which is the GEH-6632 EX2100 Excitation Control Guide, information about the IS200EGPA can be found on pages twenty-six, thirty-four, and fifty-one.
