High flexibility: agile response to the changing needs of flexible manufacturing
The repeated and continuous impact of the epidemic on the global supply chain has once again magnified the importance of the resilience of the manufacturing supply chain. In a highly uncertain environment, global manufacturing enterprises urgently need to improve the flexibility of production and lean management through digital and automated means to achieve agile production.
IS230STTCH2A In addition to the global macro environment, the rapid change of end consumer demand in the digital era also poses another pressure on enterprise production, forcing enterprises to “set production according to demand” and respond to market demand quickly. The traditional human mode can not adapt to the fast pace of flexible production, and enterprises must upgrade the factory system in a full range of automation. In the process of enterprises embracing automation, traditional industrial robots have limited their application scenarios due to their lack of flexibility and difficulty in deployment. In order to better adapt to the requirements of flexible, fast and secure deployment, more and more enterprises are turning to collaborative robots.
We expect that in 2023, the industry will continue to put forward extremely high flexibility requirements for automation methods, so as to respond flexibly to the needs of flexible manufacturing. Unlike traditional industrial robots, cobots can interact directly with employees in close proximity, matching existing work units and workstations without the need for additional safety barriers or changes to existing plant layouts. The installation and operation of cobots are also very easy, allowing for flexible and fast redeployment and task switching across multiple production lines, and even operators with no programming experience can be quickly set up and operated through an intuitive and convenient interface with little training.
Trend 3 – New heights: The load and arm length of collaborative robots break new heights to fully meet the needs of more abundant
IS230STTCH2A In the past, cobots were mainly used by customers to handle tasks with low load requirements due to their flexibility and lightweight characteristics. However, in recent years, more and more enterprises want to use collaborative robots in higher load areas to replace tasks previously performed by traditional industrial robots. The UR20, launched earlier this year, is an example of how it fully responds to this trend. The UR20 will ship in 2023.
Although the global market has an urgent demand for 20KG load robots, it does not want to sacrifice other performance due to the increase in load. In order to meet this demand, a number of Youao teams worked closely, and after three years of unremitting efforts, finally successfully reconstructed the robotic arm, which is also the largest design refresh of the joint by Youao. Finally, the UR20 collaborative robot achieved a comprehensive breakthrough in load capacity, operating range and other aspects, while achieving a large load of 20KG and a working radius of 1750mm, repeated positioning accuracy up to ±0.05mm, redefining the collaborative robot. In 2023, we expect higher load, longer arm length collaborative robots to be able to provide targeted solutions for enterprises in a wider variety of scenarios.
