Advanced and optimized motion performance and digital solutions starting from servo are the two major points of view of this new product.

In order to advance this goal of industrial automation, Yaskawa Electric has introduced the new SIGma-X series AC servo products based on the i³-Mechatronics concept.

• Performance upgrade

In terms of motor, the maximum speed is increased to 7,000 min-1, and the encoder resolution is expanded to 26bit, which is equivalent to four times the original. On the basis of Σ-7, the environmental resistance is further strengthened.

For equipment monitoring, new fault detection function; The capability of redundancy monitoring and operational status monitoring is optimized. The functions of “no debugging, servo automatic debugging, load change compensation control, debugging result visualization” are added to the equipment mechanism which is difficult to debug, making the debugging process easier to use.
• Communication optimization

Sigma-x uses the more efficient Sigma-Link II for communication between the driver and the motor encoder. While maintaining high performance and high reliability communication, the hybrid connection of servo motor and sensor is further realized, thus simplifying the wiring within the device.

Compared with M-3, M-4 in addition to improving transmission efficiency, but also can carry out decentralized control of equipment (support modular system), support IP communication. The X series is equipped with a new generation of custom SOC, which is equipped with a dedicated IP CORE for servo control, making the storage and memory larger and the main frequency higher.
• Model simplification, function integration and upgrade

The motor is no longer divided into absolute and incremental types, but also incorporates some specific FT functions into general purpose drives, increasing the added value of the product.
