The optical shared hub unit UTNH series (called the optical shared hub unit in this manual) for the information and control network TC-net 100 constitutes TC-net 100 optical transmission lines. It employs an MT-RJ optical connector with 8 ports.
The hub unit also has one port for the RJ-45 modular connector, which may be connected to a TC-net 100 (twisted pair) device. In using a single unit, use the optical shared hub unit for line A transmission line UTNH23A (SNMP installed for TC-net 100) or optical shared hub unit for line B transmission line UTNH23B.
External views and a system configuration example are shown below.

• UTNH23B: Master optical shared hub unit for line B transmission line
TC-net 100 is a monitor and control LAN for the Integrated Controllers, which can be configured using optical fiber transmission lines and twisted-pair cable transmission lines. The optical shared hub unit is necessary for configuring optical fiber transmission lines, and connects TC-net 100 stations to the network.
The UTNH23A, which has SNMP for TC-net 100 mounted in it, permits diagnosis of the ports connected to the optical shared hub unit.
The standard TC-net 100 has dual transmission lines, of which line A is for connecting UTNH23A and line B for connecting UTNH23B.
The information and control network TC-net 100 has the following features.
• Open
The TC-net 100 is a monitor and control network featuring the open characteristic of the 100-Mbps Ethernet, collision averting function, and definitive time response.
• Communication service Communication service covers scan transmission (cyclic broadcast transmission and reception) for periodic control data transmission and ordinary message transmission.
• Scan transmission has three modes: High-speed mode, medium-speed mode, and low-speed mode. These modes can be assigned according to the data refreshing cycle to assure definitive real-time response.
• Message transmission is supported by not only TCP, UDP, and IP but also the Toshiba standard protocol PCMP.
• High reliability
High-reliability systems can be built by dual transmission line configuration. Electric or optical transmission lines can be selected.
