On April 27, Beijing Humanoid Robot Innovation Center released the world’s first full-size humanoid robot “Tiangong” with pure electric drive humanoid running in Beijing Economic Development Zone, which can run stably at a speed of 6 km/h. This is also its self-developed universal humanoid robot mother platform, which can be open to industry use.
“Tiangong” height is 163cm, lightweight weight is 43kg; The robot is equipped with multiple visual perception sensors, equipped with 550 trillion operations per second, high-precision inertial measurement Unit (IMU) and 3D vision sensors, and has solved basic motion control problems, which is the best platform for embodied intelligent scenario application and research. In addition, Tiangong is equipped with a high-precision six-dimensional force sensor to provide accurate force feedback.
396P-02-10-55-41 According to the Beijing Humanoid Robot Innovation Center, “Tiangong” has open source openness and compatible scalability, can achieve open call communication interface, flexible expansion of software, hardware and other functional modules, fully meet the needs of different application scenarios; At the same time, “Tiangong” adopted its independent research and development of a new humanoid robot motor skills learning method – “state memory-based predictive reinforcement imitation learning”, to achieve the world’s first pure electric drive full-size humanoid robot anthropomorphic running, proving that the ontology hardware mother platform of the current motion control algorithm compatibility and good adaptability. This method not only solves the problem of poor positioning accuracy caused by reinforcement learning, but also solves the problem of poor adaptability to unstructured environment in model predictive control methods, and achieves a more robust, more personification and more generalization effect, which can further promote large-scale commercial applications.
396P-02-10-55-41 At the press conference, “Tiangong” also brought a wonderful “show” to the audience, showing that “Tiangong” has a stronger adaptability to the complex environment, is faster and more human-like when walking and running, and has achieved a stable running of 6 km/h. At the same time, in the case of blind vision, “Tiangong” can smoothly pass slopes and stairs, and can also achieve agile gait adjustment in tripping, stepping and other situations. It fully demonstrates the strong adaptability of the motion control method to various terrain, and will bring stronger passing ability after the subsequent development of perception-based gait.
The future Innovation Center will continue to iterate on the general platform of “Tiangong” humanoid robots and explore the “general embodied intelligence platform”. The subsequent primary goal of the innovation Center is to build the largest, most information dense and most general high-quality embodied intelligence data set of humanoid robots based on various configurations of the “Tiangong” mother platform, and continue to train and iterate the large embodied model of humanoid robots based on this data set. Through the combination of “Tiangong” platform and large model, the planning ability of long-travel tasks and the generalization ability of multi-scene and complex tasks are realized. Hardware parent platform and software parent platform complement each other, and finally converge into the best platform for embodied intelligence, and humanoid robot as the highest and most complex robot platform technology, downward compatible with various configurations of robots, to achieve universal embodied intelligence.
