DESCRIPTION

The 1762sc-IF8U is an 8-input module that belongs to is compatible for use with Micrologix series. This module is manufactured and designed by Spectrum controls. The 1762s-IF8U supports Eight (8) channels compatible for voltage, current, thermocouple inputs. If configured for D input, up to our (4) channels may be configured. It can withstand a maximum temperature of 60 degrees Celsius and operating vibrations of 10 to 500 Hertz. It can be used at a maximum altitude of 2000 meters. If the altitude is higher, the drive must be derated.

The 1762s-IF8U, similar to other 1762 expansion modules, requires proper connection to a grounding system. This will help to prevent electromagnetic interference affecting each channel. This module is designed to be mounted on a DIN rail or a mounting plate. If required, additional connections to the module must be made through its DIN rail. Additional space must be left between the module and other equipment because this will help it to have better ventilation. When installing the 1762s-IF8U, the cables must be left as short as possible, to maintain maximum accuracy. The module should be located as close as possible to the input devices in order to guarantee accurate operations.

This module supports multiple channel configurations such as Eight (8) channels following Voltage/Current/Thermocouple configuration, Six (6) channels configured as Voltage/Current/Thermocouple and One (1) channel configured for RTD/Resistance, Four (4) channels configured as Voltage/Current/Thermocouple and Two (2) channels RTD/Resistance, Two (2) channels Voltage/Current/Thermocouple and Three (3) channels RTD/Resistance and Four (4) channels RTD/Resistance.

Compatible Thermocouple sensors include B Type Thermocouple, C Type Thermocouple, E Type Thermocouple, J Type Thermocouple, K Type Thermocouple, N Type Thermocouple, R Type Thermocouple, S Type Thermocouple, T Type Thermocouple. Input signals are converted to digital values via an integrated Analog to Digital converter. Converted values may save to different data formats such as Engineering units ×1, Engineering units ×10, Scaled-for-PID, and Raw/proportional data. Each channels has individual input filters 4 Hz, 17 Hz, 62 Hz and 470 Hz.
