Complementary product portfolio, established brand and strong team

9662-610 Bosch plans to integrate the acquired businesses into the Comfort Technologies division. In 2023, the 14,600 employees of Bosch’s Comfort Technology division generated sales of approximately 5 billion euros. Comfort Technologies performs well in the key market segments of heat pump heating and hybrid heat pump solutions, including heat pumps and fossil energy. Following the acquisition, the new Comfort Technologies division will have more than 26,000 employees and will benefit significantly from economies of scale and a complementary portfolio of heating and cooling products. Jan Brockmann, Global President of Bosch Comfort Technologies, said: “We have a successful heating technology, a strong team and a solid foundation in the European market. Based on the growing demand for air conditioning solutions, now is the right time to go global.” Bosch expects a growth rate of more than 50 percent in the United States and a strong growth of around 30 percent in Europe by 2030. “We will further develop our established brands and look forward to exploring the future of the Bosch Comfort Technology business with our new colleagues and their innovative ideas.” Brockmann added.

9662-610 The Johnson Controls HVAC business, which Bosch plans to acquire, has a deep presence in the U.S. and Asian markets. In the US market, Johnson Controls’ product portfolio focuses on air duct solutions, where air is transmitted through the main engine through the duct to heat or cool all rooms. In Asia, it mainly sells ductless solutions, where indoor units in each room can be heated or cooled individually, as well as modern air conditioning systems with multi-connected (VRF) systems. The technology is used in a wide range of applications, from light commercial premises to large commercial projects such as hotels and hospitals. In addition, high-efficiency air source heat pumps are also part of the portfolio of the acquired business. In the European market, Johnson Controls offers all of the above products.
