ABB, the world’s leading electrical equipment manufacturer, recently introduced a new small indirect excitation system – UNITROL 1010-0003 BASIC 3BHE035301R0003. Based on its advanced microprocessor technology and IGBT semiconductor devices, the system is capable of supporting continuous operating current outputs up to 10A DC and is designed for voltage regulation in small and medium-sized synchronous generators and industrial machines.
The high performance of the UNITROL 1010-0003 BASIC is proven in a variety of harsh conditions and temperature ranges, and is fully compliant with DNV and UL standards, ensuring its safety and reliability. The system has added Ethernet and USB connectivity, as well as new features such as data and event logging, which provide users with more convenience and flexibility than previous versions.
This miniaturized excitation regulator shares the same interface and dimensions as the UNITROL 1020, making it easy to install and integrate, as well as to upgrade and replace from legacy systems. Its compact design for equipment with excitation currents up to 10A makes it ideal for synchro applications such as land-based power plants, Marine electric propulsion and auxiliary power supply, electric locomotives, and direct connection-based wind power.
UNITROL 1010-0003 BASIC has been deployed in more than 20,000 installations worldwide for a wide range of applications, including electric power plants, offshore electric propulsion and auxiliary power supplies, diesel-electric locomotives, port cranes and mining trucks. The introduction of this exciting regulator not only demonstrates ABB’s continuous pursuit of technological innovation, but also provides users with an efficient, reliable and international standard compliant solution.
