National Instruments has introduced a new embedded controller for PXI Express systems, the PXIe-8861, a 2.8 GHz quad-core, high-performance controller designed for processor-intensive radio frequency (RF) applications, modular instrumentation and data acquisition applications. It is powered by an Intel Xeon E3-1515M v5 processor with four cores, a base frequency of 2.8GHz and a maximum Rui frequency of 3.7GHz.
The PXIe-8861 has a wealth of interfaces, including two 10/100/1000BASE-TX Gigabit Ethernet ports, two USB 3.0 ports, four USB 2.0 ports, and more. As well as an integrated hard drive, serial ports, two Thunderboltâ„¢ 3 ports, and other peripheral I/O. These interfaces provide powerful support for industrial applications that require high-speed data transmission and multi-device connectivity.
The controller also comes with a 512 GB or larger SSD that supports up to 32 GB of DDR4 memory, providing ample storage and high-speed data processing capabilities. The PXIe-8861 runs the LabVIEW Real-Time (NI Linux Real-Time) operating system, ensuring real-time performance and stability in industrial applications.
The PXIe-8861 is designed with modularity and flexibility in mind for a variety of industrial automation and test and measurement scenarios. Whether in data acquisition, signal processing or automation control, the PXIe-8861 provides efficient and reliable computing and control solutions.
