Rockwell Automation recently introduced its new machine safety controller 1756-L72EROMS, part of the ArmorGuardLogix family of safety controllers. The controller is equipped with 2 channels, 4MB of standard memory, 0.98MB of I/O memory, and 2MB of secure memory, supporting standard and secure communication options over Ethernet /IP networks. It has a maximum analog I/O of 4000 and a maximum digital I/O and total I/O of 128000 respectively. In addition, the 1756-L72EROMS comes with an additional 1GB SD card memory and has been installed on the controller, but can also be upgraded to 2GB.
The 1756-L72EROMS controller is rated IP67, SIL3, PL(e),Type4, and contains 4MB of application code space. It comes with two fully functional EtherNet/IP device-level ring network (DLR) connections. The controller’s cable design greatly simplifies system cabling, making installation, troubleshooting and maintenance of the system easier, which is especially important for equipment manufacturers who want to accelerate product to market and reduce testing and commissioning time.
Rockwell Automation also provides a detailed installation and operation manual, including the installation guide for the 1756-L72EROMS controller, the user manual and technical data to ensure that users can properly install and use the equipment. In addition, the product has received CE and Australian RCM certification on July 23, 2024, ensuring that it meets relevant safety and performance standards
