Rockwell Automation has announced the introduction of a new communications interface module, the T8151C, which features a highly specialized design that integrates advanced communications technology and triple modular redundancy (TMR) architecture. It ensures high reliability, high security and high performance of communication in industrial control system. The T8151C module adopts a triple modular redundancy design, integrates a three-way isolated and parallel control system, and provides highly complete, error-free and uninterrupted process operation through the two-of-three logical voting mode to ensure that the system will not fail due to a single point of failure.
As a user configurable module, the T8151C supports a variety of communication media and a wide range of communication protocols, including dual Ethernet and 4 serial ports, secure and reliable communication through high-performance communication links, and supports Modbus Slave and optional Modbus Master. The module is also equipped with a serial port diagnosis interface, fault and status indicator on the front panel, which facilitates users to monitor the working status of the module and diagnose faults in real time.
In addition, the T8151C module, as part of a trusted system, can be used in combination with other modules to support more complex communication and control requirements. This module is widely used in chemical, paper, power generation, oil and gas, automated production lines, process control systems and safety control systems (such as TRICONEX safety control system) where communication reliability and security are highly required industrial control systems.
