ProSoft Technology has announced the MVI69E-MBTCP, a Modbus TCP/IP enhanced communication module designed for the CompactLogix™ controller family. Suitable for all application scenarios that require Modbus TCP connectivity, the module is designed to include a single Ethernet port for diagnostics and application data, and supports client and server connections to interface with various devices using the Modbus protocol.
The MVI69E-MBTCP module is equipped with additional configuration files and additional instructions to reduce debugging time. It supports CompactLogix processor version 16 or later and is compatible with 1769 I/O bus performance (MicroLogix 1500 is not supported). Additional instructions for the module create user-defined data types (UDTs) that provide logical definitions for I/O, status, and control data.
The module supports up to 10,000 words of data and can support up to 20 client and 20 server connections simultaneously. It also supports Enron and Daniel style floating-point data implementations for SCADA and field device interface applications.
The hardware specifications of the MVI69E-MBTCP module include standard 1769 single-slot module sizes, a maximum current load of 500 mA @ 5 VDC, and an operating temperature range of 32°F to 140°F (0°C to 60°C). Storage temperature ranges from -40°F to 185°F (-40°C to 85°C) and relative humidity from 5% to 95% (non-condensing).
With its powerful capabilities and flexible configuration options, ProSoft Technology’s MVI69E-MBTCP module brings new communication solutions to the field of industrial automation, further promoting the development of smart factories and smart manufacturing.
