Auxiliary relay

1. The auxiliary relay M can be said to be an intermediate relay, which is used in the PLC internal program and cannot be driven externally. For external load, it is used for logic transformation and logic memory in the ladder diagram.

(1) In X2N PLC, in addition to the input relay and output relay component number using octal, the component number of other soft components are decimal. Auxiliary relays include general auxiliary relays, power off – hold auxiliary relays and special auxiliary relays.

2. Universal auxiliary relay

(1) The auxiliary relay is M0~M499, with a total of 500 points. When running, if the general auxiliary relay coil is powered, when the power supply is suddenly interrupted, the coil will lose power, if the power supply is connected again, the coil will still lose power. It can be changed to power off hold auxiliary relay by parameter setting.

3. Power off to keep auxiliary relay

(1) The component number of the auxiliary relay is M500~M3071, which can still maintain the original state when the power is cut off. M500~M1023 has 524 points, which can be changed into general auxiliary relay by parameter setting. M1024~M3071 a total of 2048 points, for special power off to keep auxiliary relay. Among them, M2800~M3071 has a particularity when used in the contacts of rising edge and falling edge instruction.

(2) Use a conveyor belt to transport the product, as shown below. The conveyor belt is controlled by a three-phase squirrel-cage motor. A limit switch SQ is installed at the end of the conveyor belt. Workers place the product at the first end of the conveyor belt and press the start button to start the conveyor belt. The belt stops when the product reaches the end of the belt and exceeds the limit switch (i.e. the product leaves the belt altogether).

(3) The control principle is shown in the figure below. Press the start button X1, Yo will get self-locking, the motor will start, and the conveyor belt will run. When the product is transferred to the right end, when the limit switch ×2 is met, the normally open contact of ×2 will close, and the normally closed contact of M0 will disconnect in the next scanning cycle, so Y0 will still get power. The YO loses power and the motor stops. Although the normally closed contact of M0 is closed in the next scanning period, the self-locking contact of Y0 has been opened, so Y0 will not get power again.

In the ladder diagram shown in Figure (b), the auxiliary relay M0 is used to regulate the sweep period between the contacts.
