ABB will provide equipment and systems to help the Baoxin Steel Plant in Ningbo, near Shanghai, build the world’s largest continuous hot and cold pickling annealing line. In addition, ABB will provide unique technologies such as rolling, plate shape control and metal processing, as well as control processing products, drives and electrical equipment.

ABB Germany and ABB China will work together to implement the project. The project is expected to be completed in two years, by which time Baoxin’s annual output of stainless steel steel will increase to 700,000 tons from the current 300,000 tons. ABB has designed, built and commissioned a complete set of continuous pickling annealing lines and provided other unique equipment and technology for another production facility at Baoxin Steel Plant in Ningbo.
