The 2023 NSFC-RGC Conference on Frontiers of Industrial Big Data and Intelligent Systems (NSFC-RGC Conference on Frontiers of Industrial Big Data and organized by China Mechanical Engineering Society Industrial Big Data and Intelligent Systems Branch (hereinafter referred to as the Branch) Intelligent Systems), successfully held from 28 April to 1 May 2023. Jointly funded by the National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC) and the Research Grants Council of Hong Kong (RGC), the conference is an important part of the NSFC-RGC Joint Research Grant Scheme, which aims to promote collaboration between mainland and Hong Kong researchers or teams in academic research and explore cutting-edge scientific issues in “industrial transformation towards human-computer integration”.

The conference is organized by the Hong Kong Polytechnic University and co-organized by 9 universities in Hong Kong and the Mainland (University of Hong Kong, City University of Hong Kong, Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, Chinese University of Hong Kong, Zhejiang University, Shanghai Jiao Tong University, Huazhong University of Science and Technology, Donghua University, Tsinghua University).

The honorary chairs of the conference include Prof. Wen Haizhong, Dean of the School of Engineering and Chair of Materials Engineering, The Hong Kong Polytechnic University; Prof. Gao Liang, Vice President of Huazhong University of Science and Technology and Chairman of the Branch; Prof. Zhao Gang, Vice Secretary of Tsinghua University and President of the Chinese Graphics Society; Prof. Zhang Jie, Executive Director of the Institute of Artificial Intelligence, Donghua University and Executive Vice Chairman of the Branch. The conference was chaired by Dr Cheng Pai, Assistant Professor of the Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering of the Hong Kong Polytechnic University and Dr Peng Tao, Associate Professor of Zhejiang University and Deputy Director-General of the Chapter.

The Bureau of Proceedings of the General Assembly is composed of: Dr Chung Yun-yeung (Deputy Director-General) of the University of Hong Kong, Dr Ko Si-yang of the City University of Hong Kong, Dr Yu Yan-tao of the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, Dr Cheung Wei-Chiu of the Chinese University of Hong Kong, And Prof. Li Xinyu of Huazhong University of Science and Technology (Director General), Dr. Qin Wei of Shanghai Jiao Tong University (Deputy Director general), Dr. Wang Junliang of Donghua University (Deputy Director general), and Dr. Xie Xiaolei of Tsinghua University. In addition, the conference gathered more than 20 well-known scholars at home and abroad as the academic steering committee of the conference.
