On May 24, the 8th China Robot Summit and Intelligent Economic Talent Summit opened in Yuyao, Ningbo, with the theme of “Machine intelligence, empowering everything”.

The summit focuses on key areas such as core key technologies of robotics, digital industrial chain technology and application of high-end robotics technology. With the summit as the medium, the summit will promote the integrated development of digital economy and real economy, promote the transformation of traditional industries, promote the expansion of the scale and level of the robot industry, and accelerate Yuyao to become the highland of the robot industry in Zhejiang Province.

A research report on the development index of China’s robot industry was released at the opening ceremony, and the launch ceremony of Zhichang Fengnao Industrial Internet platform was held. Yuyao City, Central South University and the Industrial Development Center of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology signed a strategic cooperation agreement on scientific and technological innovation and promoting high-quality development of manufacturing industry. Twenty-seven projects in robotics and intelligent manufacturing, energy and other sectors with a total investment of 20.35 billion yuan were signed.

In the exhibition hall covering an area of more than 3500 square meters, the major domestic and foreign well-known exhibitors have their own robot and intelligent equipment field of the latest achievements, hot technologies on display, involving more than 30 industrial applications, more than 500 pieces (sets) of the latest application products, technical achievements, solutions.

It is understood that the China Robot Summit, the largest and most influential robot event in China, has been successfully held for five times since it was permanently settled in Yuyao in 2016. After years of efforts, the summit has become a high-level platform integrating strategic planning, academic exchanges, technology demonstration and talent cultivation. Its influence, popularity and radiation power have been comprehensively enhanced. It plays an increasingly important role in promoting the integration and symbiosis of artificial intelligence and manufacturing industry, and realizing the sharing and integration of resources and factors.

The successful holding of the summit has established a powerful talent pool for Yuyao and brought inexhaustible impetus for innovation. Up to now, Yuyao has cultivated 120 experts of key talent plan at or above the provincial level, led to the introduction of 1,700 high-level talents with master’s degrees or above, and led to the gathering of high-level talents exceeding 7,000. Zhejiang Robot Industry Group has been established by introducing high-level industrial innovation platforms such as Zhejiang University Robot Research Institute and Ningbo Intelligent Manufacturing Industry Research Institute, and a provincial-level robot and intelligent equipment industry innovation service complex has been established. Since 2016, Yuyao has approved 47 science and technology research projects at all levels, obtained 233 million yuan of government funds at all levels, and driven enterprises to invest 887 million yuan in research and development.
