imc Test & Measurement, manufacturer of Axiometrix Solutions Industrial Test Group, has introduced a new modular data acquisition system, imc ARGUSfit. imc ARGUSfit’s base units and high-speed measurement modules and fieldbus interface modules (such as CAN FD) can be easily connected together through a “snap-on mechanism”, providing rich flexibility for vehicle, large equipment testing and monitoring applications. The modular design makes the imc ARGUSfit perfectly adaptable to changing test environments, thanks to its extremely compact housing design, making it ideal for test applications in tight Spaces. For distributed measurements, modules can be connected via fiber optic cables, which makes the instrument flexible and robust. In this way, the measurement module can be placed as close to the sensor as possible to reduce noise and interference and save on expensive cables. With a total system sampling rate of 5 MS/s, the ability to scale over 1,000 channels, and a sampling rate of up to 500 kS/s in a single channel, imc ARGUSfit is imc’s most powerful data acquisition platform to date. Internal SD card slot for data storage, independent operation without PC, optional UPS unit to provide power failure protection at the moment of vehicle start-up. At the same time, the imc Online FAMOS, a real-time analysis unit, is integrated to facilitate data analysis tasks during measurement. The new generation of imc ARGUSfit data acquisition series introduces not only high-speed measurement modules, such as the ICPU-6 measurement module for ICP-type sensors such as accelerometers and microphones, but also the UTI-6 measurement module for universal voltage amplifiers. Moreover, low and medium speed data acquisition can be taken into account, for example: the imc ARGUSfit module (high speed) can be seamlessly integrated with the existing imc CANSASfit series of modules (low and medium speed). This will further expand the possibilities for testing applications and extend the boundaries of new system use. With a “one platform” product design philosophy, the imc ARGUSfit works in sync with all other imc data acquisition products during measurement tasks.

The modular design concept of the new imc ARGUSfit data acquisition platform enables the basic imc ARGUSfit unit to be easily paired with the measurement module and fieldbus module through the “snap” mechanism, without the need for additional cable connections. Combined with the fiber-optic system bus expansion module, multiple combinations of centralized or distributed system setups are possible that match the complex test needs of vehicles or large equipment prototypes. Because imc ARGUSfit is compatible with imc CANSASfit and its HISO series, data acquisition can also be performed in high pressure environments, enabling a comprehensive and complete measurement solution with both low and high speed sampling channels. The new imc ARGUSfit series modules, ICPU-6 for recording ICP accelerometers and UTRI-6 for measuring voltage, current and RTD (PT100/1000), can be used in high speed and large channel number application scenarios, such as turbine testing, condition monitoring, wind tunnel testing, etc. It can even meet the test needs in high-pressure environments. In addition, the new imc ARGUSfit can be run in sync with any existing imc data acquisition system.

In centralized and distributed measurements, the compact module design allows the imc ARGUSfit to be placed close to the sensor, and the unique imc ARGUSfit system bus supports a total system data rate of up to 5 Mbps. Thanks to the fiber connection, imc ARGUSfit maintains this rate even in distributed data acquisition Settings.
