According to the latest data from the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the scale of China’s industrial Internet industry is expected to reach 1.2 trillion yuan in 2022, providing strong support for high-quality economic and social development. The reporter learned from various aspects that China will further improve the top-level design, use the relevant fiscal, tax and financial policies to promote enterprises to actively use 5G and other technologies to carry out the digital transformation of factories, accelerate the large-scale development of the industrial Internet, promote the deep integration of the digital economy and the real economy, and constantly release the power of industrial upgrading.
We will enable the transformation and upgrading of traditional industries
As a key path to promote the deep integration of the digital economy and the real economy, the industrial Internet continues to release effects in promoting the transformation and upgrading of traditional industries.
The Industrial Internet identification analysis system is the foundation of the industrial Internet network system and an important link to support the industrial Internet. In 2022, China’s industrial Internet identification analysis system will be fully completed.

Zhao Zhiguo, Director of the Information and Communications Administration Bureau of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, said that at present, the top five national nodes and two disaster recovery nodes in the east, west, North and South are all online, and the secondary nodes are fully covered, nearly 240,000 service enterprises, and more than 240 influential industrial Internet platforms are cultivated, including 28 cross-industry and cross-field platforms. Effectively promote the whole product process, production links, upstream and downstream of the supply chain data interoperability, resource coordination, and accelerate the digital transformation of enterprises.
From the perspective of enabling industry transformation, China has created a number of application promotion service carriers for industrial common needs, cultivated “low-cost, lightweight” solutions, and lowered the threshold for digital transformation of enterprises, especially small and medium-sized enterprises.
“We focus on the characteristics of various industries, formulate and promote the industrial Internet integration application guidelines for more than 10 key industries such as steel and electronics, and guide industry enterprises to carry out industrial Internet applications according to industry conditions.” We implemented the Industrial Internet innovation and development project, accelerated the research and industrialization of key technological products, and issued a number of national, industry and group standards to further improve the standard system.” Zhao Zhiguo said.
It is worth mentioning that in the construction and application of “5G+ Industrial Internet”, China has built more than 4,000 “5G+ Industrial Internet” projects in more than 10 key industries such as automobiles and mining, and accelerated the popularization of 20 typical application scenarios such as collaborative research and development design and remote equipment control, which effectively promoted the improvement of quality and cost and efficiency of enterprises.
Zhao Zhiguo introduced that industrial 5G fusion products are increasingly abundant, and the module price has dropped by 80% compared with the initial commercial period. All over the country set off a boom in the construction of 5G fully connected factories, accelerating the further deepening and expansion of 5G to the core control link of production.
A combination of measures was taken to accelerate large-scale development
In the view of the industry, the development of China’s industrial Internet is in the critical period of starting to explore and turn to scale development, but improving the coverage and application depth of the industrial Internet still faces challenges.
Zhao Gang, president of Saizhi Industry Research Institute, believes that in terms of platform applicability, industrial enterprises have many categories and complex process processes, and how to adapt the general industrial Internet platform to the application needs of different enterprises needs to be further explored. In the system application, the production equipment of industrial enterprises may come from different manufacturers, the equipment interface standards are not uniform, and some systems are relatively closed, which puts higher requirements on the system integration. In terms of construction costs, industrial Internet construction involves the procurement and deployment of sensors, communication modules, network equipment, etc. Industrial enterprises, especially small and medium-sized enterprises, are faced with problems such as “lack of technology, lack of talent, lack of funds”.
