By 2025, Guangdong Province will become an important base for high-end equipment manufacturing such as high-end CNC machine tools, Marine engineering equipment, aviation equipment, satellite and application equipment, and rail transit equipment.

The grand blueprint has been drawn, but there is still a long way to go to achieve this goal. Wu Zhiheng introduced that the “congenital deficiency” of Guangdong’s high-end equipment manufacturing is mainly reflected in the small scale and volume of the industry before the reform and opening up, and after years of market-oriented development, the evolution has formed a “small and specialized” industrial pattern. At present, Guangdong Province lacks the support and layout of major equipment at the national strategic level, which is also where the high-end equipment industry in Guangdong Province needs to make up for and make efforts in the future.

Make up for the “congenital deficiency”, but also rely on the day after tomorrow to catch up. Chen Lihui introduced that at present, Guangzhou and Shenzhen are making every effort to build a comprehensive national laboratory focusing on technology research in key areas such as equipment manufacturing, and Guangshen Budan has formed a number of domestic technology leading enterprises and key equipment products in the fields of shipbuilding, Marine engineering equipment and aviation. For example, Guangzhou Wenship Heavy Industry Co., Ltd. has participated in the construction of national bridge projects such as the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge CB03 bid section anti-collision casing, the artificial island cofferdam steel cylinder of the deep-middle passage, and the submarine sink steel shell.

The high degree of marketization is the biggest feature and advantage of the rapid development of Guangshen, Foshan and Dongguan intelligent equipment industry. Chen Lihui believes that high-end equipment research and development investment is large, the need for more resources, often need to take regional strength. In the future, to enter the high-end equipment field such as aviation and Marine engineering, it is also necessary to balance the relationship between the government and the market, and strengthen the coordination of policy resources in the four cities. Gong Xiaofeng also stressed that as a cross-city industrial cluster, in the process of moving toward a world-class high-end equipment manufacturing base, Guangzhou-Shenzhen-Buddian-Dongguan needs to further dilute the regional administrative color, strengthen cluster thinking, truly realize collaborative layout, integrated development, and enhance the overall competitiveness and influence of the cluster.

The relevant person in charge of the Guangdong Provincial Department of Industry and Information Technology said that the future will focus on three aspects to promote the transformation of the cluster to high-end, intelligent and green. First, the implementation of the “manufacturing industry in charge of 22”, further optimize and improve the in-depth coordination of industrial development layout, and improve the provincial planning mechanism; The second is to establish a “chain length system”, coordinate cross-regional and cross-industry important matters, and form a working situation of “provincial and municipal linkage and departmental coordination”; The third is to explore the establishment of cross-regional and cross-industry linkage development coordination mechanism, promote Guangzhou-Shenzhen-Buddha-Dongguan four municipal governments to strengthen cluster construction, operation and scheduling, adhere to dislocation development, efficient coordination.
