Lloyd’s new compact ultrasonic sensors: the HTU200 and DMU200 series sensors are particularly suitable for applications in the packaging and automotive industries. These devices can handle the tricky detection and measurement tasks themselves: the new sensors from Laurel-gauge can detect objects with any surface structure using reflected acoustic pulses. Whether it is a bright, clear or dark surface, or a liquid or granular product, it can be easily detected. For this new range, LOetrig offers different sizes of switches and measurement ultrasonic sensors. These devices have a detection range of 0.1 to 6 meters. Some models also provide an IO-Link interface. As a result, system operators can find solutions that suit every requirement.
Figure 2: Lloyd’s ultrasonic sensor can detect objects with any surface structure. Dusty environmental conditions do not affect the detection. The HTU218 switch ultrasonic sensor is suitable for level monitoring, such as containers containing particles or powders.
Optimal object detection and condition control
There are 20 models of the HTU200 series of switch sensors. The HTU208 compact ultrasonic sensor has an extremely slender construction (M8 threaded bushings) and can be installed in tight production environments. Thanks to the narrow sound lobe, the sensor can detect the corresponding level even through the smallest container opening. The range of sensors in the M12, M18 and M30 models is also available.
Figure 3: The new HTU208 compact ultrasonic sensor is available in the M8 threaded casing model with a narrow sound flap to detect the corresponding level through a very small container opening.
Accurate detection distance
Lloyd’s DMU200 series offers 8 models of measuring ultrasonic distance sensors. Due to its analog output, the DMU218 sensor is suitable for accurate distance measurement. The DMU230 M30 structural sensor is suitable for detection distances up to 6 meters.
Figure 4: The DMU200 series ultrasonic sensors measure the distance to an object using an ultrasonic flap, regardless of the material and surface of the object. If a wide sound lobe sensor is used, even the detection of perforations in the carton is not a problem.
Indicates the model with the IO-Link interface
All new ultrasonic sensors from Leucombe feature a robust, compact metal housing that meets the stringent requirements of the IP 67 protection class. These sensors work reliably even in harsh conditions of steam, humidity, dust or the presence of external ambient light. Easy to operate: Thanks to the IO-Link interface, switches and measurement ultrasonic sensors on the M18 and M30 models can be easily connected to the automation system. Through the IO-Link interface, device parameter setting and operation are also extremely simple. In addition, predictive maintenance is possible with internal object counters and diagnostic data, such as temperature information.
Figure 5: Lloyd’s ultrasonic sensors are ideal for detecting drum diameters. The DMU218 new distance measurement ultrasonic sensor sends out an analog output signal corresponding to the diameter of the drum for control. Therefore, the system can detect in time when the drum must be replaced.
