ABB acquires Eve Systems
On June 12, 2023, ABB announced the acquisition of Eve Systems, a well-known smart home products company headquartered in Munich, Germany, with operations in Europe and the United States. The deal will make ABB a smart home product based on new interoperability standards and wireless connectivity technologies Matter and Thread. The combination, through Eve’s expanded and complementary portfolio, offers customized consumer-facing products and solutions for the retrofit market, accelerating ABB’s delivery of safe, smart and energy-efficient home and building solutions.
Blackstone Group has completed the acquisition of a majority stake in Emerson Electric’s climate Technologies business
Blackstone Group and Emerson Electric said on May 31 that private equity funds managed by Blackstone Group completed a previously announced deal to acquire a majority stake in Emerson Electric’s climate Technologies business, a deal that values the business at $14 billion. The new independent business will be named Copeland, a brand with a century-old history in the heating, ventilation, air conditioning and refrigeration (HVACR) industry. Copeland’s net sales for fiscal year 2022 were $5 billion.
ABB completes acquisition of Siemens low-voltage NEMA motor business
On May 3, ABB announced that it had completed the acquisition of Siemens’ low-voltage NEMA motor business, which was originally announced on August 11, 2022, financial terms of the deal were not disclosed, and the company has approximately 600 employees and 2021 revenue of approximately $63 million. The acquisition of the business is part of Motion’s strategy for profitable growth in its business areas, strengthens ABB’s position as a manufacturer of Industrial NEMA motors and provides a stronger platform from which ABB can better serve its customers around the world.
Emerson buys NI for $8.2 billion
Us industrial conglomerate Emerson Electric agreed on Wednesday to buy National Instruments (NI) for $8.2 billion, ending a nearly year-long acquisition of the measuring equipment maker. NI provides software-connected, automated test and measurement systems that enable businesses to bring products to market faster and at a lower cost. NI’s solutions help 35,000 customers in more than 40 countries solve current and future testing challenges and improve the speed and efficiency of their product development cycles.

Yokogawa Electric Corporation has announced the acquisition of Fluence Analytics, a U.S.-based startup that provides real-time analytical solutions to global polymer and biopharmaceutical companies. With this acquisition, Fluence Analytics will integrate its operations with Yokogawa’s existing operations and further enhance its technology capabilities. Starting today, Fluence Analytics will operate as Yokogawa Fluence Analytics.
