The second step of “number intelligence” : Use AIGC to achieve cost reduction and efficiency increase
At the end of 2022, ChatGPT set off a heat wave of generative AI large models with a bang. On the basis of previous cooperation, Haier Design and Amazon launched an exploration of “generative AI+ industrial design”.
As for why it chose to take the initiative to embrace AI, Haier Design hopes to achieve cost reduction and efficiency. Generative AI can be based on an enterprise’s existing processes and knowledge graph, and can be trained to avoid repetitive, inefficient processes and reuse.
Based on this, Haier Design and Amazon Cloud Technology or cooperate to deploy generative AI applications, to create the country’s first AIGC industrial design scheme combined with actual business scenarios.
It is reported that at the infrastructure architecture level, the solution uses Amazon SageMaker to quickly build and train AIGC models, and provides services in a Fine-tune as a Service way by applying Amazon SageMaker machine learning platform. Take advantage of Amazon SageMaker’s online model training and management capabilities to provide creative assistance, content production assistance, and creative support for consumer products, games, and more.
In addition, Amazon Cloud Technologies provided Haier Design with elastic GPU computing power – the Amazon EC2 G4dn instance, which is the most cost-effective general-purpose GPU instance in the industry, suitable for deploying machine learning models such as image classification, object detection and speech recognition, as well as graphics-intensive applications. Examples include remote graphics workstations, game streaming, and image rendering.
After the launch of the project, Haier Design introduced AIGC solutions into product design, UI design, CMF design, brand design and other links, covering new product design, model upgrading, channel customization and other industrial design business scenarios.
In addition, Haier Design and Amazon Technology have also collaborated to develop the first integrated virtual designer AI assistant “Co-designer”, through the cooperation with Amazon Cloud Technology, Haier Innovation Design Center has received comprehensive support in terms of infrastructure, including 3D cloud desktop, file sharing system and automated design.
“Co-designer is a key point of collaboration, although still not very well developed at the moment, but as an important sub-scene, it brings many new applications to the design center.
In addition to Co-designer, Haier will further develop and apply other sub-scenarios, such as the designer’s previous section and the fields of manufacturing, marketing, service and installation.
They plan to explore and apply AIGC technology in different links throughout the value chain to enable more work optimization and innovation, “said Wu Jian.
It is reported that through AIGC, Haier has achieved a design center business efficiency increase of 11.9%.
