On August 27, China Internet Network Information Center (CNNIC) released the 48th Statistical Report on China’s Internet Development (hereinafter referred to as the Report) in Beijing. Relevant experts said at the conference that it can be seen from the report that the digital economy is booming, helping to build a new development pattern, and the industrial Internet platform system has basically taken shape.
Zeng Yu, director of the China Internet Network Information Center (CNNIC), said that first, the scale of Internet users exceeded one billion, laying a solid foundation for the development of the digital economy. Second, the industrial Internet platform system has basically taken shape, effectively helping to improve the level of industrial digitalization. In 2021, China’s industrial Internet platform system of “comprehensive + characteristics + professionalism” has been basically formed, with more than 100 industrial Internet platforms with certain industry and regional influence, more than 70 million connected devices (sets), and more than 590,000 industrial apps. Third, the popularization of new Internet applications has accelerated, and new space for social production and life has been expanded.
Zhang Xiao, deputy director of CNNIC, pointed out that digital industrialization is booming and showing a strong acceleration momentum. In the first half of the year, the business revenue of enterprises above designated size in the electronic information manufacturing industry, software business and information technology service industry, and Internet and related services enterprises above designated size all increased by more than 20% year-on-year, maintaining a high-speed development momentum. Secondly, industrial digitalization is in full swing, and digital technology is deeply integrated with the real economy. In the retail sector, online retail has become a new engine of consumption. In the first half of this year, online retail sales of physical goods accounted for 23.7% of the total retail sales of consumer goods. In the field of service, mobile payment opens up a number of online and offline service scenarios such as catering, takeout, and tourism; In the field of industrial manufacturing, the industrial Internet platform system has basically taken shape, and industrial digital application scenarios such as smart factories and drone inspection have been constantly introduced.
Chen Wenling, chief economist of the China Center for International Economic Exchanges, said that the dominant position of industrial digitalization in the digital economy has been further highlighted, and the digital transformation of the three major industries of agriculture, industry and service industry has been further promoted. In agriculture, intelligent equipment such as unmanned tractors, unmanned rice throwing machines, and “5G+ intelligent greenhouses” promote accurate perception and intelligent decision-making in the agricultural production and breeding process, and help agricultural development move from informatization to standardization and intelligence. In terms of industry, as of June 2021, the numerical control rate of key processes of enterprises and the penetration rate of digital R & D design tools have reached 53.7% and 73.7%, respectively, and the digital transformation readiness of the manufacturing industry has continued to increase. The digital application scenarios of “5G+ Industrial Internet”, such as collaborative R&D and design, remote equipment control, flexible manufacturing, and drone inspection, are accelerating. In the service industry, various traditional service markets, from catering and tourism to office, education and medical care, have realized online and offline integration due to digital empowerment, further driving the prosperity of the service industry. At the same time, the intelligent supply chain system continuously optimizes the basic operation of enterprises, big data and machine learning help enterprises realize digital-driven management, and the big data platform guides enterprises to improve operational rules and strategies, providing new opportunities for the high-quality development of the service industry.
Yu Xiaohui, president of the China Academy of Information and Communications Technology, also said that the industrial Internet has become a prominent highlight of industry innovation and development. High-quality external networks cover more than 300 prefecture-level administrative regions across the country, and some provinces have achieved full coverage of industrial Internet networks in all cities and industrial parks. The construction process of “5G+ Industrial Internet” has been significantly accelerated, with more than 1,500 projects under construction in total. The application level of “5G+ Industrial Internet” integration has been continuously improved, covering more than 20 important industries of the national economy, and forming ten application scenarios such as remote equipment control, equipment collaborative work, and on-site auxiliary assembly in five key industries of electronic equipment manufacturing, mining, steel, port, and electric power.
