On July 20, the 125th anniversary of Kuka was successfully celebrated in Augsburg. Nearly 400 customers and partners from around the world, as well as guests from politics, business and society attended the anniversary event. Wu Ken, Chinese Ambassador to Germany, Dr. Markus Soder, Governor of Bavaria, Dr. Eva Weber, Mayor of Augsburg, Dr. Gu Yanmin, Vice President of Midea Group and Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Kuka Group, and Peter Mohnen, CEO of Kuka Group, delivered speeches respectively.
Congratulating Kuka on its 125th anniversary, Chinese Ambassador to Germany Wu Ken said in his speech that the development of Kuka today is another successful example of cooperation between Chinese and German enterprises, which proves that win-win results can be achieved as long as we adhere to objective and rational mutual understanding and uphold the concept of mutual respect, equality and mutual benefit. The People’s Government of Shunde District of Foshan City also sent a congratulatory letter on the 125th anniversary of the establishment of Kuka Group, warmly congratulating the 125th anniversary of Kuka, and said that Kuka is committed to global industrial automation, intelligent and digital upgrading with a pioneering and innovative spirit, so that more and more industries can easily achieve automation. The congratulatory letter also describes the blueprint of mutual benefit and win-win situation between government and enterprise and create the next brilliant chapter, which triggered a warm response.
Dr. Gu Yanmin, Vice President of Midea Group and Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Kuka Group, said that Kuka occupies an important position in the development plan of Midea Group. As a long-term investor, Midea provides continuous support for Kuka in market access, financial resources, operational capabilities and other aspects, and said that Midea’s operational excellence and Kuka’s innovative spirit go hand in hand to create a better future.
At the anniversary celebration, Peter Mohnen, CEO of Kuka Group, reflected not only on the history of Kuka, but also on the future: “Our eyes are firmly set on new developments, customers and markets. Peter Mohnen believes that new technologies have never offered such a huge opportunity to address challenges such as skilled worker shortages or demographic changes. As a result, Kuka’s products and solutions are more in demand than ever, and “we have achieved sustainable growth across all industries and countries.” This year, Kuka’s sales will exceed 4 billion euros for the first time in the company’s history.”
The Kuka Group anniversary celebration included keynote speeches, a tour of the campus and an innovation forum. At these events, guests gained insight into Kuka’s solutions around robotics, automation and digitalization, including new business models such as automated modular house construction, simple and intuitive robotics innovations or solutions in the medical sector. Guests will also have a table tennis match with Kuka brand Ambassador Timo Boll and experience the Kuka Robot roller coaster.
